This could easily have gone the other way. That game was sooooooooo close in the end, no wonder the Americans looked sad. We would have looked like that too. :(

They weren't even expected to medal so ya, I can see being disappointed but winning a silver is not THAT bad when you weren't even supposed to win anything. If everyone else was to follow their lead then all athletes who won silver should look like their puppy just died...
I thought making them hold those ugly ass bouquets was just so wrong though...:D :D |

Who likes to win lose? haha not many, give the guys a break, sheesh, it was a tough game to lose! I saw the faces of the Canadians the first game and they were pretty upset themselves because it SUCKS to let people down! wow, harsh critics on this forum! :wtf: |

they didn't pull anything like that. i don't get why people are criticizing them for obviously being heart broken by the loss. they played extremely well and if they won i'd have no problem whatsoever saying that they deserved it.
both teams played their hearts out and canada just happened to be the first one to capitalize. if this went to a shootout then the US would probably take gold.

Yes.
If you paid attention to the game you'd recall Pierre McGuire saying numerous times how the Americans were frustrated and anxious while the Canadians remained calm and cool throughout the game; just like they were against Russia. The Canadians were out there having fun and playing from the heart. The Americans were bitter throughout the game and bitter after the game.
What kind of ing attitude is "You lose the silver you don't win it." Said American defenceman Jack Johnson, after the game. I'd bet good money no Canadian player would say that if they WON silver, instead of gold. |

Love how Crosby scored put his hands up casually immediately after scoring the winning goal, then realized he won the goddam gold medal game and spazzed out.
