If Canada beats Germany that means either Canada or Russia (both favourites for a Gold) will not get a medal.....WOW

I notice there's a serious lack of Olympic and World Records these games. I'll just blame the weather :tongue3

I think weather has a big part to do with it and also the altitude. The ice for the skating events tends to be softer and stickier when you are at sea level.

Man, Russia is doing so bad in these Olympics that would be adding more salt to the wounds if they get blanked in hockey too.

Canada has to do a lot better offensively against the Russians than they did last two games and/or they cannot make the same mistakes against an even more lethal squad.

It doesn't look good right now but in a one-game tourney strange things can happen.

and the drug testing :p

by the way, if you thought the Ovie hit was something, just wait until "the Tank" Anton Volchenkov unloads on one of our players :nervous:

I dont know why anyone is using the term "dominated" for either team. I wrote on NYTA about 2/3 throught the game:

"If the USA keeps playing like this, they will lose to Canada in the third. If Canada keeps playing like this, they will not win the gold, ragardless of whom they play."

Both teams had weaknesses that were undeniable. USA was getting badly outshot (especially in first and second period), had weak passes, and slow decision making. Canada looked sloppy at times, had poor goaltending, and looked extremely unorganized under the pressure of being behind in the third. Each ahd their own strengths as well, but in order for the teams to compete against Russia (or whomever), they really need to get on top of what they did wrong last night! Despite the excitement of the game, NO ONE dominated.

I think it's pretty clear that Miller DOMINATED the game....simple as that.

I guess they weren't watching the same game :p

Shots were 2-1 margin, and that's not even including all the blocked shots by the defense.

I am glad to have left Vancouver two days ago. It is an absolute zoo.. and if they lose to Germany, the place is gonna look like Haiti afterwards

/tasteless post :p

He did make SOME good saves, but in all honesty, I don't think we took some quality shots at him. It's one thing to keep taking plenty of lousy shots at their goalie, and another on making some quality ones.

While I'm starting to appreciate the strategy of curling, I still find it hilarious that it involves the most heated screaming I've ever heard at an Olympic event.

Cheryl Bernard has a big rack.

The US were good at making Canada take shots from the perimeter, it was like facing four goalies out there, clogging shooting lanes, etc. We dominated the play but couldn't break that fortress.
