Another passage pretty relevant to this thread:

The "it" in question refers to any ego-corrosive actions that help us get our attention off ourselves. Get your attention off yourself. Pay attention to your actions; know what you are doing. Pay attention to what is happening around you; let your environment inform you. Pay attention to others and listen to their stories; this will authenticate your responses." |

I wanst comparing them as icons. Obviously TP is much less so. I was comparing them as both doggedly atavistic masters of the sometimes uncomfortably raw production of their respective arts |

Fair enough, but it's not the production that's raw, it's the performance, in TP's case. |

d00d, I think everyone has said their piece on this already... no one's gonna misunderstand those respective positions after this much posting about it.
For me, all of it was enlightening as it brought forward a great many little things to the surface that we may otherwise take for granted in our everyday experiences of music and dancing, and which do in fact matter quite a lot to all of us, in one way or another. [/kumbaya]
