Sounds like the rooms are decent at least.. first time in Vegas so we decided to be tourist like and book what looked like a "cool place."

I've stayed there several times and as recently as 2 weeks ago (too drunk to drive)...make sure you DON'T get a room inside the Pyramid on the upper levels. The echoes and noise are loud enough to hear in your room. It's ty if you're a light sleeper or are partying hard at EDC. Tryto get something in the base building, ie. first 3 floors. It's nice and quiet....you'll need it after all that loud banging noise!

I fall into the "light sleeper" category and had an upper floor room in the pyramid last year, but don't recall hearing much outside noise, maybe the seal on the door wasn't tight or something?

I think Luxor is actually better quality than most casinos in its price range. For anyone into Irish food and Guiness, there's an Irish pub with awesome food and a Guiness store that has like a thousand different Guiness items, they are both in the walkway between Luxor and Mandalay Bay. :)

If you can't join them, beat them, or something like that...

Well, I guess I'm gonna be going to EDC for the first time this year. Been going to parties for ages, but never really felt like traveling to a US massive. Generally would go to NL. Also, excited to see Q-dance there.

Kind of crazy that I was just in Vegas late January for a wedding and I'll be right back there in the same year after about a decade of not seeing Vegas. Can't wait!

Is that what EDC is doing this year? They didn't do anything like that last year... Pretty much alternating acts. They did try to corral the people who still like Drum n Bass into one stage however

With no dubstep????

just curious.

I'm personally not going this year. But are you at least thinking about attending after seeing the lineup?

Yeah, your options are basically:

  • Check out Monday at 11am after getting back exhausted from a long night at EDC (party goes until sunrise and it takes like 45 minutes to get back from the Speedway).

  • Leave EDC a lot earlier, but who wants to do that?

  • Reserve a room with late checkout at time of initial reservation (costs $10 plus tax per night above the "regular internet rate"). So you'd pay $11.20 extra per night and also lose any promotional discounts. Assuming 3 nights are booked at $100/night using a 30% discount promotion, that would be approx. $100*.30 x 3 + $11.20*3 =$124 extra to extend check out until 3 p.m. This "late checkout" promotion also ends May 31st, so it's not yet available for June.

  • Give the desk clerk a $20 slipped between credit card and driver's license upon check-in. There's actually a website I saw once with reviews from people who did this, ranged from success to getting the money returned with a look of disgust, so YMMV.

  • Pay for Monday night when making the reservation which gives you checkout anytime up until 11 a.m. on Tuesday. The EDC rate for Monday is currently $59/night plus tax and resort fee, or ($59+15)*1.12= $83 (yeah, they charge tax on the resort fee, but so do the other Casinos).

  • Pay for late check out at the desk while at the hotel, usually the worst option since it depends on availability, and they have you right where they want you, tired with wallet open...will likely cost the same or more for 4 hours as you could have got for another whole day, and they may still say "sorry, not available!"

Not sure how Q-Dance will do but totally stoked for it. Though as with all stages, I hope the stage designs happen this year. Enough with the trusses rock like setup. Just go big - ID&T style.
Q-Dance is known for pyro and effects. Wonder how it will due without this here.
