Lol @martin schultz, and armin played probably longer than aoki. I left once armin got off and aoki and someone at least strongly resembling guetta if not guetta started playing weirder and cheesier electro than i was prepared to listen to
It sucks that they stopped letting people in saturday night while the party was still relatively bumping. I was even in the place and i had no idea that armin and markus were actually playing to a crowd for a whole hour or two. I first heard about it on twitter, no joke, a lot of people had no clue and left. I didnt hear any trance from the stands because the soundsystem was so small, and thought they were playing from a studio or something.
They were getting completely drowned out by the one big stage where someone was playing, no idea who, dubfire? I dunno but the bass was not doing anything for me. Haha. I was just about to leave but went back down on the grounds and was much surprised to find them playing off the float.
Well after a 10 hour drive in ty traffic all the way thru barstow im finally back at home, broke and tired as hell. Going thru reno would have been less stressful and better scenery if not a bit longer. Had many good times, good memories and video footage enough to forget all the bad, but next year only if i have cash and vacation to burn which is not often |

| So after Jochen Miller's set, it was time for Rank 1's highly anticipated live set. I know it must take a lot of skill and preparation to pull off a live set as they have in recent years, but I just couldn't get into it. A big part of it was b/c the sound kept fading in and out, which made the set lose momentum IMO. You can tell the crowd was starting to get restless. With so many things to do at EDC, I didn't have the patience to see how the rest of the set was gonna unfold. At least I stayed until they finished playing Airwave :D |

Wow, what a ing great weekend in Vegas, and I didn't even attend the Speedway itself!
I was actually in Vegas for work - between the Pacman fight, the conferences and EDC I have never seen Vegas so packed. It was rammed everywhere, but the most incredibly thing was the vibe.
It was actually great to see clubbers everywhere, waling around Wynn casino, the encore bars, the restaurants in the Palazzo...and the biggest thing was that just everyone was up for a good party. Never been a fan of the candy raver thing but I have to give it to them, they really went all out without looking trashy - lot of effort going on there.
Super friendly crowd everywhere, especially at....
CARL COX AT DRAI'S
What a ing epic night :eyes: Stayed until 9am and cox just kept pumping it out. I've seen him a ton of times over the last 15 years, but that was some of the most fun I've had in a club. Really good looking and friendly crowd who were just so ing up for it, and seeing cox in such an intimate setting is where he really excels. I've said it for years, but that man really is the greatest DJ playing the circuit now. The only thing that slightly sucked was that Drai's basically don't give any information on set times and we got in there shortly after 1am only to discover Cox wasn't coming on until 5am! The warmup guys did a great job though so it was all good.
Big shout out to a bunch of guys (in case they happen to read this) in the bay area who let me use their Iphone when mine died and couldn't access my flavorus tickets.
Anyone else go to cox at Drais? |

This was my first EDCLV and probably my last. As everyone else has said, traffic was a nightmare. I had a guest list bracelet for the event and on Saturday I spent 2 hours just trying to get in. No one working the gates had any clue what they were doing and were sending me all over the speedway to different entrances. Every time I went to the gate the previous gate person told me to go to, had my ID checked, waited to get patted down, I was told to go somewhere else. I was over EDC even before I got in. Once I got in (a head security person I guess finally just let me in) I was there 2 hours and everything came to a halt because of the wind. It was my sign to leave..only took 35 minutes to get back to the hotel via shuttle. So many people were waiting it out but I looked at the weather and knew the wind wasn't going to die down.
After all that I really didn't even want to go on Sunday but I'm glad I did. The sound seemed louder and the sets I saw were really great (ATB, Diggers, Carl Cox, Danny T).
I rode the artist shuttle this time and had no issues getting in...if only I had known before. Leaving on Sunday was not so fun. Took 3 hours from the time we left, waited in shuttle line, then arrive at the hotel. I had about an hour to pack, etc then get to the airport. There were so many people walking on the side of the road, some with no shoes... :/ I can't imagine where they were even walking to as it didn't look like there were any hotels in that area.
Overall, once inside the event I had a good time. I think they should have had bathrooms for those who purchased VIP. Other than the 'speedy' entrance and the viewing platforms, I didn't see any benefits to VIP. I will definitely be back to Vegas...won some good money on the craps table but I think I'd rather go to EDCNY next time rather than EDCLV. |

| If i remember right last year, the 15 right shoulder was the dedicated shuttle/taxi lane. That would've helped this year... It took my girlfriend 3 hours to get out of the parking lot Sunday night! Still up in the air for next year; this year definately didn't score many points. |

You are the man! Thanks, I really appreciate it.
everyone I know who was there also said it was one of the best night they've had in years, but I wanted to hear his EDC set as some people are were going mental over it ("best set of EDC 2012" etc) so I want to hear how he played.
I had a ing blast at Drai's for cox, and I've got to give it to them, they really did book proper talent:
Hawtin, Sasha, Cox, Loco....on consecutive nights. I was so close to going again the night after Cox but one 10 hour club night is enough for me these days. Apparently the Sunday (Loco Dice) was also Guy Gerber and Sebastian Leger.
The only thing that was a cluster was getting in. The guy with the flavorus presales list was a no-show and the security was just clueless as to what to do. Unless you actually had you're printout, or could online access your flavorus account via a phone, then you weren't getting in. |
