| We will win, I don't see us losing many matches after Jan any year. We don't lose much and I don't see us losing the premier. If hell did freeze over and we lost, it's unacceptable to finish 2nd, at MUFC, we only know and accept one thing, winning! |

| It'll be interesting to see how the transfer market moves this month. Arsenal have their money tied up trying to build a new stadium so they're unlikely to spend much, but Man Utd could bring in a couple of new faces. As for Chelsea, they're likely to be going for some of the biggest guns in world football, who they'll get their hands on is anyone's guess. |

| But even with all that money and talent, it may not buy you success. I don't see us splashing money down like crazy for players. Fergie (love the man or hate the man), seems to find the right players to fit in with the team and that is why we have enjoyed so much success I think. I mean the core of the team has not changed that much over the yrs (with a few departures) but the main team is still together. I don't think spending millions of pounds guarantees you a title in anything. I mean Real spent a ton of money on players but did not win the Champions League. I think it is about finding the right fit for the team, not the most expensive talent out there. Manchester's problem is two fold at this moment, we need to find a 2nd striker to back up Ruud (till Ole comes back), we need to find someone who can feed the ball into the strikers like beckham did (that celtic dude is rumored) and find another defender (the belgian defender is rumored and so is Hofland (who is rumored to go anywhere) and we may need 2 defenders with the Rio problem. We have the money to buy the players but normally Fergie won't fix what is not broken. His record speaks for itself but he is more cautious in buying players). We shall see |

I would hate to see Chelsea buy success, but teams have shown before that you can buy success where others have failed. Real Madrid have won the Champions League/European Cup many times, but it is not the best example anyway because they were knocked out by another side who have some of the biggest names in world football (Buffon, Thuram, Nedved, Del Piero, Trezeguet etc). They have also dominated the Spanish Primera for many years and were the first side in the Champions League to qualify through the group stage this season. Man Utd tried to buy success for many years, and it was years before Ferguson won anything. He was on the brink of the sack and widely criticised by fans when Man Utd were hammered by Man City, what many considered the last straw. Yet it was a home-grown side which won him the title and some of those players were winning him titles many years later (Butt, Scholes, Beckham, Giggs, G Neville, P Neville etc). That was how Man Utd rose to success, but it is not the only way. When Blackburn won the Premier League they had spent heavily in those day's standards, but that was followed by relegation because they didn't have the infrastructure to maintain dominance. Leeds tried to buy success with a massive bank loan, but their ability to pay that back was dependant on qualifying for the Champions League. They did enjoy a run of success, even getting to the last four of the Champions League, but their big financial gamble ended in misery. Newcastle were one game away from relegation to the 3rd Division ten years ago, yet a couple years later we were leading the Premier League by 12 points and should really have won the title - this surge was achieved by buying players, not our youth system which has always been appalling.
So it's not so clear-cut. Chelsea have financial security, so long as Abramovich doesn't do a runner. They are prepared to spend ruthlessly like Real Madrid, and I doubt they would mind achieving the same success. This season is a difficult one to call, but Abramovich has said if they fail he will keep on spending and spending, and so far he has been more than willing to put his money where his mouth is. If Abramovich has any patience and really does try to build an empire at Stamford Bridge then Chelsea are a massive threat. If he does a runner then they could really be in the , but realistically he's bound to give them at least a couple of years before cutting his losses. |

Two miracles occurred today - Newcastle won in Southampton for the first time in 32 years and Dyer actually scored, not once but twice!
He was played up front alongside Shearer for the first time ever. The first goal was well taken but his second was a little bit like Owen's famous goal against Argentina. After a fantastic flick-on from Shearer he dribbled it past two defenders with either foot before slotting it past Niemi with his left foot.
It was Dyer's first game back from injury, along with Woodgate who was fantastic at the back. Bernard, Hughes and Bramble were also good in defence and Given only had to make one save in the match. Robert was lively again and he thumped a low drive through the legs of a defender and the keeper from 20 yards out after a goalmouth scramble was half-cleared by Beattie. Speed and JJ have both been poor in the centre recently but commanded the midfield today. Solano was all over the pitch and assisted the first goal with a nice cushioned header from Hughes' cross. Shearer assisted the third and along with Dyer didn't allow their centre backs a rest. He found the ball at his feet unmarked on the penalty spot with only the keeper to beat, but his first time hit sent the spinning ball over the bar.
Southampton 0 - 3 Newcastle
(Dyer, Robert, Dyer)
This display was nothing like the Newcastle of recent weeks. The question is, can we play like this week in, week out? We have Leeds at home on Wednesday, it is vital we take 3 points because next weekend we go to Old Trafford. |

I don't think Robson has lost the plot. Something, i believe, went off in closed doors with Solano, i think i heard a long time ago about Internationals, and Solano apparently retired, signed a new contract and then all of a sudden he goes back to playing international football? A, i right?
He will buy Bridges oif he does well and will learn allot from Shearer who is has got about another 3 years left in him. Soon as Bellamy gets fit your club will start to pick up speed i believe. Just wait, and have faith in your manager.
Also, what are your opinions on Jenas? At forest he was massively rated, but so far, ever since he has come to Newcastle, he gives the ball away an awaeful lot of the time, is this happening just when i watch him on TV or is it week in nd week out? |

No need to sound too harsh mate, i did not attack, i just stated my opinion.
Lots of ppl will have opinions on whether or not they should have sold Solano. You don't know the pressures from the back board...or anything else to that matter, plus look how far Robson has took your club.
Shearer still has allot of time left imo. Sherringham has played until 36, so why not Shearer? He is an experienced player and an excellent addition in the squad, never mind what people could simply learn from him on the training ground. |
