damn these away kits arent as nice as the juventus style away kit that newcaslte used to have (when they still had newcastle brown ale as sponsor). one of the nicest shirts i own!

I've got this shirt now, managed to get it a tenner cheaper through my brother who works at Northern Rock.

It doesn't look like the Inter shirt when you see it for real, it barely looks stripy as the colours blend into each other.

Wish I could get one of em in Australia. Looks like Ill be forced into ordering one in over the net - which Im not a fan of.

Ive had my eye on a few possible players that I could see doing well at Newcastle.

Latvian Andrejs Rubins - has looked particularly good. Against stern oppostion in the Czechs and Germans where they have found themsevles on the back foot for most of the game, Rubins has played with a certain flair and has proved to be a handful for both defences.

Swede Christian Wilhelmsson - Very fiery on the right and gave Zambrotta a fun for his money in the match against Italy. More than impressive was his long-lasting fitness levels. Rarely saw him with hands on knees when the ball was kicked out etc..

Greek Traianos Dellas - CB and the most impressive defender of the tournament for me so far. He was awesome when the Greeks kept Portugal at bay in the first game and was as equally good against the Spaniards. Vision, awareness and ANTICIPATION were top draw.

Anybody beg to differ or share similar views?

so long as Dellas aint like Dabizas, I'm happy :)

Dellas has caught my eye, didn't pay enough attention to the other guy but I will now you said it. I think one of the commentators said Dellas is the tallest player in the tournament.

Helveg caught my eye, he's 33 next week and a right-back at Inter Milan, not sure if they'd let him go, but he's been excellent at Denmark, defensively as well as going forward.

NUFC.com have free shipping, but charge "£4.30 insurance and speed delivery charge on all non U.K. orders". I imagine other shops will charge more than that to ship to Australia.

btw guys, I've got a wicked pic of st james's park that I took when I went to the Newcastle vs PSV match as my desktop, let me know if you'd like it :) and I'll put a link up for the photo I took with my digi cam :)

Nice pic, shows the sheer size of the level 7 stands :D

If the whole stadium was level 7 I reckon it'd be 80,000 at least. If we could get the noise back to the levels of 10 years ago the place would be a ing cauldron :D

The only downsides are that we play Blackburn away on the 26th, then Arsenal two days later at home on the 28th...
The same applies at the start of January as well. Surely they expect a club two play twice in two days. Therefore those matches are certain to be re-arranged.

Bobby has reportedly pulled out of the deal to sign right back Miguel, since Benfica not only want Viana, but they want some 6m for him as well.

I'm not too happy about having to go to Smogside for the first game of the season. They've given us a hard game the last two seasons there. At least a draw would be expected, yet a defeat to them would be a crappy start to the season. We have had some happy memories at home to Tottenham, and Norwich at home could get us going in the right direction as well. It's just Boro on the first day that's got me nervous, they're an unpredictable team.
