It's well known that Mourinho would like a move to England, and there has been speculation that he would come to Newcastle. He and Bobby Robson spent 6 years together at Sporting Lisbon, Barcelona and Porto. Our chairman denied these rumours but Bobby Robson said he would be his favourite man to take over when he retires. I would love him to come here, he and Bobby could work alongside for a year before Mourinho fully takes over, making a smooth transition.
Nando, do you think Mourinho would realistically want to come to Newcastle? There are rumours Real Madrid might take him when they sack Queiroz.
As for Hugo Viana, many Newcastle fans are very disappointed about the way he is being treated. When we bought him we beat clubs like Juventus to get him and paid £8.5 million for him, he was the European Young Player of the Year. It was a very exciting signing for us, but he still struggles to get a single full game, he's lucky if he comes on for 10 minutes at the end. Many believe he can't cope with the physical aspect of the Premier League and needs too much time on the ball and believe we should sell him, whilst others believe he needs more of a chance in the first team. He is desperate to play for his country in Euro 2004 and was prepared to take a big wage cut to go on loan back to Lisbon, but we denied him a loan move (because of injury fears). Now he is worried he won't play for Portugal bewcause he isn't getting a regular game at Newcastle, he frequently complains to the media and people are worried he could leave in the summer. His time at Newcastle has been a pretty bleak one so far. Let's hope he can meet his awesome potential, but I fear he will be better suited in the Spanish league. |

I know what you mean. After the first goal we could easily have been 3-0 up at half time. Bramble missed an easy header from 3 yards out, then put his header over the bar from another excellent Robert cross. Then Jenas missed a header from less than a yard out from a Robert corner!
Laurent Robert assisted both goals with excellent corners as well. I can't believe he can't get in the French squad. Kezman's penalty was his only shot on goal in the game and it was a silly penalty to give away by Bernard. Other than that I thought Bernard coped with Rommedahl well. There were two other Premier League managers (O leary - Aston Villa, and Coleman - Fulham) at the game watching Kezman. |

| I see what ure talking about with Viana. I was so envious when Newcastle snapped him up a couple of seasons ago. He was meant to be one of the biggest prospects in europe. But hes done nothing at newcastle and bobby robson has treated him poorly. If i were him id be leaving this season for another club that will play him. Same goes for Joe Cole whos barely played at chelea.. wasted talent |

Typical Newcastle, we are approaching a crucial run of games which could decide our fate for years to come, and suddenly our crucial first team players start dropping injured.
Marseille fans will be interested to know that Bellamy is out, which once again leaves a gaping hole in our attack. Dyer will probably miss the first leg, meaning our other quick player is out. Jenas, who has just started to find his form, was also injured today. Bowyer was feeling his hamstring at the end of the game, I hope that's not another. Ameobi and Bramble are have minor injuries, but they might not be ready in time for Thursday.
This could mean Viana, Bowyer (possible), and Bridges get their chance, plus another big game for Ambrose. |

Well that sums a pretty season for us.
Knocked out of the Uefa Cup but we cant really complain as we were out played. Our main player is shearer and where more or less screwed when nobody is supplying him with the ball.
As for Viana, i can see why he never gets his game and if he continues to perform like that i would say a likely candidate for the transfer list.
When you come to think about transfer list, the whole midfield should be put on it. Well apart from Ambrose.
Dyer - Fast, but what do we get out of it? He never creates anything.
Jenas - He had a good season last year, but winning the young PFA or wotever its called got to his head and he thought he was something else and his performances this season have been poor.
Robert - Only performs when he can be bothered.
Bowyer - fair enough he hasnt been give first team football, but when he was given his chance he did nothing special. Reports are that he's been linked with Aston Villa and it wouldnt suprise me at all if he was to leave,
Speed - Too old, what more can i say?
As for bobby robson, he was full of praise for the players after the marseille match? was he watching the same match as me?
In the paper this morning reports are that were gonna be buying danny mills. Is there any need? just wasting money on more e.
Prediction 2-1 defeat today.
Aston Villa 4th
Liverpool 5th
Newcastle 6th
And i bet you any money we dont sign anyone big in the summer and another poor season will be likely next year. |
