The media are at it again, The Sun's "exclusive" today is that Kluivert and Souness have had a bust up already because Souness wanted him to play in the reserve game against Wolves but he didn't turn up.
This is a made up story but not even a good one. Firstly, Souness doesn't begin as Newcastle manager until next monday, he's not allowed to enter the training ground yet. Secondly, he won't even have heard of half of our reserve team so why on earth would he be selecting it? He doesn't even have that authority anyway. Another pathetic story from the Sun aimed at unsettling our squad, I can only assume Freddy Shepherd really did something to piss them off cos this story is rather desperate. |

The 53-year-old has played and worked with Souness' and believes the new Magpies boss will not judge the squad before seeing them train.
The final weeks of Sir Bobby Robson's reign was blighted by reports of player unrest but Murray insists the squad will be given the chance to prove their commitment.
"I don't think Graeme is as confrontational as people have made out," he said. "He'll go to St James' on Monday with no preconceived ideas about any players and judge them on what he hears and sees himself.
"Indeed, he's as mature at this present time as any time I have ever known him.
"But what has not changed is his mental strength and his single mindedness. He knows what he wants at Newcastle, which is also what the fans want. And he also knows that he needs to get it."
Walker-born Murray has known Souness since they both played at Middlesbrough in the 1970s.
The former Hartlepool and Darlington manager is aware of the task the 51-year-old has taken on, but believes chairman Freddy Shepherd has made a wise investment.
"Obviously, I'm a bit biased, but as a life-long Newcastle supporter, I've got to say this is a great appointment for the club," he added.
"Don't forget, I've watched Graeme Souness' career since we were both together at Middlesbrough as kids and shared the same digs in the mid-1970s.
"Nobody knows him better than I do. I've seen how he works and he can handle the top jobs - and nobody needs to tell me what a big job Newcastle is.
"It's a pressure job, but if there is anyone who can handle the pressure, it's Graeme.
"They have some big, big personality players at St James', but that will not be a problem to him. They will respect him because of the way he conducts himself and how he handles situations involving themselves.
"His philosophy has always been that managers don't pick football teams. It's the players who pick the team by the way they play, and Newcastle players will find that if they play well, then they will be in his team."

TBH I don't think Sam really considered it, he'd have had a think about it, but he's got a chance to do something at a club he loves, and loyalty at the end of the day comes through, it'd be like trying to get shearer to manage man utd or something, there's still the good loyalties where it's needed

We bossed them in every area of the park, and O'Brien is now our joint top scorer :D
Charles N'Zogbia got his debut, he came on in the 92nd minute to a good reception but the referee blew his whistle 4 seconds later so he never got a touch!
We still have Butt, Taylor, Bramble, Bernard and Ambrose to come back from injury this week. |

| Oh yeah, I'm off on Tuesday to watch Arsenal vs PSV, should be a cracking game :-) my best friend is a gooner and he had a spare ticket, hey its Champ League and its good football to watch, a bit cheaper to get to than St James's for me at the mo lol :) |

O'Brien's goal was good, the sort of goal you'd see from Defoe. He swivelled his man well on the corner of the six yard box and stuck it past Friedel.
That was our first clean sheet since the Marseille home game, which unsurprisingly Woodgate played in. |

Pah, we matched them twice last season! :p We could have won at Highbury if it wasn't for a stupid late penalty and Woodgate played Henry and Reyes off the park at St James'.
Apparently Fulham dominated Arsenal today for the first half, the referee awarded Fulham a penalty and then changed his mind, then disallowed a goal from Fulham after that. Dodgy! I notice Man Utd scored an injury time equaliser for the second game in a row, and both were handballs. |

John Carver has admitted he has set his sights on returning to St James' Park one day - as Newcastle manager.
The 38-year-old Geordie is clearing his desk at the stadium after having his contract as first-team coach terminated to make way for new manager Graeme Souness' backroom team.
But Carver, who rose through the coaching ranks on Tyneside under Ruud Gullit and is now being linked with the vacant Preston job, insists he is determined to continue his progression with football.
And he sees no reason why he cannot go some way to emulating one very famous manager who also started out as Sir Bobby Robson's number two.
"I'll have to wait and see what my next move is going to be, but I want to go into management," said Carver, who led his beloved Magpies to a stirring 3-0 win over Blackburn.
"I would like to be Newcastle manager, but I will probably have to go away and learn my trade first.
"I wasn't a top player, but I've come through the coaching ranks here. Just look at somebody like Jose Mourinho and everything he has achieved.
"It is a long way off for me, but he started off as Robson's assistant, so it can be done."
