FYI, I'm and insurance adjuster, I know a thing or two about this....

HOWEVER, please note that the above is based on standard policies... it is possible that some policies may specifically exclude damage by hurricanes, thus, in order to trully know one would have to check their policy wordings.

ok, mr. man.

FYI- im still right.

there really isn't HURRICANE insurance.

maybe some things a hurricane causes like some property damage due to wind and water and the like, but as far as a HURRICANE goes, ixnay.

Everyone in the state of FL must have storm & surge (some ) added to their insurance...which pretty much covers flodding & high wind damage due to a hurricane...although it's not actually called "hurricane insurance" there is a feature everyone must have in order for the company to pay.

;)

yep, but all im saying is that there is no HURRICANE insurance lol

Some of those pictures are just jaw dropping.

I know I speak for everyone when I say that I wish we didn't have to be hearing about all of the deaths Katrina has caused (could be on the order of Camille's toll), almost all of whom are people who ignored the evacuation orders and stayed behind (How stupid are people to ride out something of this magnitude???). I commend the forecasters at the National Hurrican Center and elsewhere who warned the appropriate sections of coastline, and the Emergency Managers in the coastal cities who ordered the evacuations based on those warnings.

This is not meant to be racist in any way. I am just wondering this.

Why have all the video images and still images of people that tried to stick it out and now are being rescued..... are of african american descent? Im amazed that is what I am seeing on the TV? Is it a money issue.... or a cultural thing?? Im kinda curious and this is in no way me trying to be racist or anything of that nature.
