At halftime of the Miami-Florida State game, Ted Koppel announced that the Superdome is coming down.

Take that for what it's worth.

Well the Saints had plans for a new stadium anyway regardless of the hurricane or not for years now. The plans were already under way but if they will stay in New Orleans is now the question.

I imagine the Superdome would have stayed open, similar to the Astrodome.

possibly .....dont know though i just know that the saints were getting a new stadium...i think most domes are being placed by open stadiums ....vikings , falcons, Indy ,ect have plans of changing to other stadiums
Vlad
Thing is, what city could they possibly move to? I can think of only 1 place which is a big football place without an NFL team, Nebraska.

Nebraska ?? heheh ur kidding right? Nebraska is big for college football but pro football there many venues that are much more suited for a team then nebraska. The Saints were actually considering moving most likely to LA, if there plans for a new stadium didnt pass through the city. From the looks of it there first homegame will actually be played in NY so it wont really be a home game. For the future home games they think LSU Tiger Stadium or San Antonio Alamo dome will be used just for this year. But for future perminant locations there many venues large enough to hold a NFL team (LA, San Antonio, Orlando, Las Vegas, ect)

I thought about LA, but than thought about the Rams and Raiders... not gonna happen.

Orlando? I dont see the place where dreams come true a safe haven for tailgating drunkness.

San Antonio, could be a place...

My initial thought was maybe Portland.

this is the thing...nfl is the most viewed sport in the US. So they normaly would bring expansion or change of existing teams locations to large media markets. The Saints were going to move to LA if the city didnt approve a new stadium. LA has the next expansion which i believe its in 2008. Why i said Orlando thats because its Florida good weather and large media market, where as portland it isnt. Las Vegas on the otherhand are striving for a perfesonal team, but i think baseball, hockey, basketball will come here before a football team would, but Vikings were planning on moving to Las Vegas in the late 90s didnt fall through obviously. Truely determins the Media Market being that LA is the second largest media market in the US and it doesnt have a nfl team id be highly suprised them not having a team in the next 5 years.
