I don't know how it's spelled, But if you have an object thats round shape, Air cannot blow right at it cause the air will around it instead, Objects that are solid shapes like squares will get pushed around cause theres no way the air can go around it, So it just being pushed.

This just makes me more glad that I left the area (FL) and moved to the west coast. Best of luck to all those that have to endure this weather phenomenon.

Anything thats rounded will just circulate the air.

That depends if theres a Superdome after this storm, But we'll see what happens in the next couple of hours.

so lets say i get an egg.. i blow it. the air will magically go around it and the egg wont move. yet if i blow a little paper box of the same weight. it will magically move?
Vlad
They used the Superdome because it is structurally superior to any other building in N.O., but if there is massive flooding, which there will be, those people will be stuck in there for a while.

I know Nut mentioned the 15 ft. barrier that surrounds N.O. to keep it from flooding, as well as the 25 foot potential surges that will come from the Gulf... but, the thing that is most detrimental is that there will be no way to drain the water out of N.O. because of the 15 ft. barrier that surrounds it, so as it stands N.O. is gonna be like a bowl of cereal.

There will be some slight movement, But not that much cause as I stated before, the air will just circulate.
