Anyone hear that the Bush Administration had cut funding to the repairing of the levees back in 2001, and have cut other areas as well that were in need of repair since then to fund the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It looks like the levees that were supposed to hold up Lake Pontchartrain would have failed eventually anyways, even if the Hurricane wasn't as strong as it was. So flooding was inevitable it seems....

Anyone heard about Leopold Stotch? I just read that he's a NOTA.

There were designed to withstand a category 3 hurricane.... not a cat4 borderline 5. And the whole story with the Bush admin cutting the funding is just a story to place the blame somewhere. This was the doomsday scenario that no one expected to occur.

The other bad fact for the gulf is that climatologically, stronger storms hit the gulf region at a higher frequency in september through november.... so the terrible fact is that this is only the start for the gulf in an already strong season....

What I said is by no means a forecast... for those that dont understand my jargon... climatologically deals with a statistical average over (generally) a 30 year period if not more. After some number crunching and such thats what I found out.... but with anything the season may or may not go with the statistical (climatological) average.....

Some people complain about people breaking in stores and taking stuff ... which i dont see the problem with at all, these stores have nothing anyway either the stuff gets thrown away or people use it to save there lives ..such as changing there wet cloths into new close , such as taking caned goods that are still avaiable in stores. These people havent eaten or had water for 4 days some of them what would u do i personaly would do anything possible to save me and my families lifes if it takes breaking into a store that is submerged in water to get some food so be it. These people shouldnt be looked apon as criminals. I do understand people who violently take from others that are in need then thats a different story. I just watch the news and i see people breaking into stores taking things and many look down apon these people for doing it, personaly i dont think they should. As i said before if u were in a situation where u either sit there wait for water and food, or break in and see if u can find anything that can increase ur survival rate.

Taking ten pairs of sneakers is not basic survival. Taking food I can understand, anything else is just wrong. You know the ing jackasses in the city are attacking ambulances to try to get drugs? They're shooting at rescue helicopters. Police are cornered in their stations with snipers on the roof.

The news isn't reporting it but I guarantee those ******s are being shot by the cops. More power to the police, I say. How can you be so low to interfere with evacuations and airlifts of direly sick people? My only thought is that they think "i might not make it out alive, why should they?"

Still. ing lowlifes. Amazing what scum comes up during crisis.

I heard on the news that possibly as much as 50 to 60 percent of the N.O.'s police walked off the job. That's prob why there is so much choas. The national gaurd better get their asses down there before all hell breaks loose.

Hearing rumors of Marines moving in. Could just be rumors... I sure hope it's true though.

i didnt talk about shooters out there they are lowlifes ...but majority of the people looting are doing to survive. Plus go for 4 days without water u start seeing u become insane. In those situations u cant say you would be the same person u are ... survival mode and humans start to become animals its normal. Dont alwys be quick to judge... but for the ones that are killing and shooting people i agree with u they are lowlifes...but for those who steal from stores to survive nothing wrong with that at all. Cloths and Food nothing wrong .... these people walking in water for hours even days to get dry ground, changing cloths is just as nessesary as having food and water.
