The matter of fact is that you are taking this where I didnt want it to go. My comments are not of racist nature. I had no idea (until I just created those maps) that there is a higher concentration of African Americans located there. I was just pointing out what I have seen on CNN, fox news and MSNBC. Just what has come across the airwaves.

Some of those pictures are just jaw dropping.

I know I speak for everyone when I say that I wish we didn't have to be hearing about all of the deaths Katrina has caused (could be on the order of Camille's toll), almost all of whom are people who ignored the evacuation orders and stayed behind (How stupid are people to ride out something of this magnitude???). I commend the forecasters at the National Hurrican Center and elsewhere who warned the appropriate sections of coastline, and the Emergency Managers in the coastal cities who ordered the evacuations based on those warnings.

48 hours in advance.... why didnt people leave???

You know 48 hours... ok fine... but than you look at 24 hours away, sustained winds at 160mph - wouldnt that kinda ring a bell to get the out of dodge?

i would think living in "TORNADO ALLEY" and "HURRICANE SPITOON" would also be warnings
