italy played some of the most boring football i ever saw in euro 2000 because their defence was stronger than attack but they pulled out results time after time with a tight backline and quick counter. it wasn't til the final they played the most beautiful, free-flowing attack style we had seen all tournament to everyone's delight, but only then was it that france stole the final.
