italy didn't deserve to win that game....they played like they played vs romania, desperate long balls to toni...nobody moving off the balls, suggests that the italian team is tired and old. good news, lippi is coming back and will give out team a new face lift
even tho spain didn't play well, they still deserved to win, they were attacking for the better part of the game, thank god we have chellini, only guy working in there
russia should give a good indication of how a team should be coached....Italy relied way too much on Toni who chocked.....don't understand why Boriello couldn;t come in instead of toni.....
this wasn't italy's year, and i thought we were going to get blown out of the water, and we held them to a 0-0 and lost on PK, so not bad in that aspect....spain and russia will win ....sorry germany, your defense is slower then my dead great grandmother....

just wanted to add one more point about italy:
I had really high hopes for aquillani in this game, but you can just tell he wasn't mature for this game and was not up for it
he hid and didn't want to get involed in the game, a real shame cause he's a really talented midfielder
bottom line, and this is an italian saying this....even tho spain didn't play well, italy didn't deserve to win, pinning your euro hopes on useless long balls to choke-artist Toni is not a way to go to the semi-finals in this competition

Just as a curious sidenote, I've also met Italians from Italy and yes they were different in some ways than Italian Canadians, but they also had a lot in common with Italian Canadians.
Boring game overall from both teams. Some sloppy play on both sides. Luca Toni is an overhyped player who pretty much did nothing in the Cup, despite his great record playing for Bayern. Sure, stats are great but in the end its results that matter, and Toni for Italy did not do what he was expected to do and what he was supposed to do.

A naive and silly thing to say. You should never underestimate Germany. Portugal did that and now they're out. Yes Germany's defense is not the best, but they're nowhere as bad as you say. Germans have good midfielders and Germany has a strong goalie to bolster their defense.
