GM and Chrysler are exceptions not the rule. The health insurance industry is NOT going to get any better if the government all of a sudden lets all the controls go. It will get way worse. |
I respect your opinion but if the government lets go of the industry and lets the private sector take care of it, what problems do you forsee happening? |

Insurance rates going up, care being denied, and businesses wholly dropping or severely limiting coverage. |

While this is ed up, consider the time. No one, on a large scale really, cared to drive it. 1500 cars? That is so few. |

'entitlement' is what is ruining the US and other western nations. However, I am a keen believer of 'democracy' (republican or democrat or what have you) and the U.S leads the way in this road to democracy against totalitarianism and communism. China is a country only fit for it's inhabitants, and even Europe with it's robust economy and vibrant tourist attractions (at least in some areas), it still lacks in comparison to certain aspects of the US culture (science and technology). No country is better than another, and in times like these investors have 'more options' (instead of choosing the obvious, as it has been seen for the past decades, the united states.) |
i agree. (even though the peso comment i made was a bit much:p)
The reality is that the economical advances of many other nations across the globe will lead to Americans having to work harder for their money (Canadians and pretty much any other western country as well), as well as forcing them to live more within their means. I think it is a great thing, because for many people in these countries, credit and flashy things have definitely become more of a false entitlement than being what it should be aka something that is earned.
ps with the security in iraq improving, and their small stock exchange getting set to accept foreign investors, the amount of money that there is to be made there is astounding. Getting into a country at bargain basement prices can only lead to the eventual profiting.
Your comment about China is wrong though, as I have several friends from North America who live there, are prospering, and never want to come back home;) |

Interesting. That sounds exactly like the current system that we have, which by the way, is getting much worse. |

I wish that this was even more ingrained in the minds of the US mentality, but people are still talking about credit and credit cards, as if they can just start the same crap up they did before. Like they didn't learn anything from it this time. |

hmm, you seem to be onto something....NOT.
The situation will not just get worse, it will be accelerated and exacerbated by government just abandoning the industry to govern itself. |

And I rightfully disagree. Look at Medicare for example and what a horrible scam that has become, amongst other things that the government sets up that are supposed to be taking care of our well being. We have X amount of dollars coming out of our paychecks to help pay for a failed system, a system that some say isn't going to last much longer unless, guess what... they raise taxes! So this is where I believe your argument is flawed and why you're missing the point here. The ONLY way any of these programs can EVER work is with YOUR dollars. And guess what happens when these programs fail... they take MORE of your dollars!
Just think about that for a little bit and even do a little reading into how these systems are operated and how piss poor they are doing. To name another, look at Social Security. The reserves are probably already gone and have been gone but its believed that by 2016 the whole jig is up for that operation. Again, none of these operations can work without our money and I believe that I know more about what I want to spend my money on then someone sitting in Washington does. :) |
