Smaller government, free market solutions, individual liberty to make choices, fiscal responsibility, right to life...etc. Rush and Hannity have their opinions, but they are not the physical embodiement of conservatism. Although you can't really argue that what Obama is doing is conservative at all.

Those "conservative" principles you'v just outlined are great theoretical. But this is reality. It's not so black and white. Sometimes, those ideals are not the best solution for a given situation. Example, the imminent collapse of our financial system. Your free market solution would be to let it happen. Such a view is obviously not grounded in reality. It's like someone gets shot in the chest and are on the edge of flat lining in the ER. According to your view, the doctor should let the patient die, after all, we must let nature take its course!

Don't confuse my ideolgy with my general disgust for certain liberal policies and the motives of an ever expanding government. I fully believe in classical conservatism (except I'm more open to abortion depending on each individual's situational context) and think its principles are what we need to reign in the current maddness.
