There's 2 armies in Libya, Gaddafi personnal army, about 40k strong, very very fidel to him and the popular more conventional army, about 66k strong, which has started to defect.
What could happen, is a war between the two, and it will be ugly, not certain that 66k is of an advantage over a hardcore 40k in an urban setting. |

I was reading an article saying a billion dollars was requested from the oil ministry to pay for a his son's own personal militia. These thugs are well paid and I can't see them leaving without a fight.

| There is a video on liveleak at the moment of Libyan death squads rounding up and executing soldiers who refuse to shoot civilians. I won't link to it...its not pleasant viewing. |

I guess the militia have no real family or friends, so its easy for them to kill people and not care. |
