02:13 Almanara Media is confirming from trusted sources that Khamis Al Gaddafi has passed away on Sunday due to severe burn injuries he sustained a few days ago. The burns were caused when a fighter jet pilot performed a martyr mission and crashed his fighter jet into Gaddafi’s compound Baab Al Aziziyah. IMPORTANT: We are only citing Almanara Media for this news. We have not confirmed it via any other source. |

| I don’t think anyone with some common sense should be surprised if after all this we get a full on militia war inside Libya and at the point the West would have to invade in order to stop the unrests. |

Well in his defence...if you look like him and get a wife like that you're bound to believe that anything is possible. |

it was 800K in 3 months IIRC. i think your barb is a little simplistic too, as far as oil goes. the US was still reeling from having their dead dragged thru the streets of mogadishu (somalia not being a great oil reserve as far as i know) the year before and this certainly tempered the enthusiasm for "pointless" conflicts in africa at the time. not saying it wasn't a huge failure by the US (and everyone else) but i disagree that this was primarily due to oil (or lack thereof). |
Rwanda was way too hot for us to land there for years so I never went there, from what one of the Tanzanian advisors I spoke to said, roughly 15-20% of the population simply evaporated in about a month under their neighbours machetes, but no one on the ground was really counting and haven't done since.
Africa is a fairly simple place at heart. If you have no net worth to any of the major factors in the UN, they dont care to apply themselves to any kind of malfunction. Being a former if somewhat transient resident of one of those 'pointless' countries, its just how it is. The care factor of the west and asia hit rock bottom years ago as the only news that comes out of the continent is bad, regardless of the successes that happen.
Somalia more than likely has some very good oil reserves but its not been verified, mostly because since 1991 anyone that went in there disappeared. Its a place of nightmares.

Also the Arab dislike that the UN / US bombed Libya. |
So why don't they fix it themselves, oh wait, they're actually really useless at anything more than finger pointing and making money. |

| Comrade Stalin |
| Did you guys hear the Arab League now protesting the no-fly zone after they approved it days earlier. What a bunch of ing idiots. |
