that's the general assembly.. the security council is a different story... If its them whose meeting, which i think it would be, there's a good chance of some action taking place... |

Whats the security council going to do, give them 24 hours to stop killing their citizens or else lol If the security council had balls, they would have flattened every military base in Libya by now. The only way the US or any other country on that council will intervene is if someone ends up blowing something up or flying another plane into a building. |

I heard the UN is crafting a strongly worded resolution condemning Gaddafi actions. He is really going to feel the sting of their verbal rebuke. He won't know what hit him when those sanctions take effect in a few months. |

UN is nothing, its whatever its members decide to do, and won't have neither the manpower nor the logistics to do anything by its own means.
Don't think about the UN as an independent entity capable of action, because it's ain't and it will never be.
