I tell ya what tho, these riots will pale into insignificance compared to the riots that will break out when the Da Vinci Code film is released in May!...

or maybe not...

You can be modern if you are religious to an extent, but you cannot be fundamentalist religious and be modern (mentally speaking of course) Eg - teaching creationism as scientific fact, even if you teach it on the latest computers (!) is not modern, its backwards...

Ok that's it, the Iranians have gone too far. How dare they cheapen the sanctity of our name changing by imitating us.

CARTOON CRISIS: IRAN RENAMES DANISH PASTRIES

Tehran, 7 Feb. (AKI) - Iran has decided to rename Danish pastries "Mohammedan" pastry - a new twist in the crisis which has triggered protest by Muslims throughout the world against cartoons of Mohammed first published in Denmark. The name change recalls when some Americans started calling French fries, "Freedom fries" to protest France's opposition to the United States-led invasion of Iraq.

I doubt it Christians in the US when they dont like something they do a small protest or have it banned...like the Mormons in Utah they cant see half the programs and bits of film because everything is edited there I believe.

That pastry name change is hillarious...i think im gonna go buy some Freedom Fries..IDIOTS

Iran reminds me of that neighborhood retard who walks around trying to get his ass kicked but everyone realizes that the kid is retarded so they ignore him but he won't shut up until someone bitch slaps his face.

I bet Iran is trying to provoke Israel to strike:

After they publish the cartoons and get even (not that the Jews did anything to them in this thing), can all of this bull cease?

quote:
The West's publication of the Prophet Muhammad cartoons was an Israeli conspiracy motivated by anger over Hamas' win in the Palestinian elections, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said Tuesday.

Speaking to Iranian air force personnel, Khamenei the cartoons were a scandal, particularly as they came "from those who champion civilization and free expression."

The caricatures amounted to a "conspiracy by Zionists who were angry because of the victory of Hamas," he said, referring to the Palestinian militant group that won a surprise landslide victory in last month's elections.

Khamenei, who has the final word on all matters in Iran's Islamic system, was speaking at a ceremony to mark the air force's decision to join the Islamic revolution in 1979. His speech was broadcast on state radio.

Weren't these cartoons printed in late September/early October? I mean seriously, if you're going to brainwash your people, at least get the facts straight. They need to take lessons from America's spin machine about how to spread propoganda to the people.

Well that will depend on how Israel and Western world react to such cartoons.

Rest assured, it shall be a vigorous roll of the eyes that will surely rival this intoonfada.

I say kick Iran out of UN, sanction the piss out of it, see how long Iran will continue the same policy. Though it will mean that oil prices will skyrocket... probably into tripple digits.

Yes, from the majority, or I say 99% of people, but even if 1% decide to retaliate to it posting more cartoons of Muslim Prophet in a bad way, than we will be back to day 1.
