Sweetwater brewery
Pros: Chill crowd, pets allowed, bomb beer
Cons: location is a bit of a bitch far and parking can be a bitch during summer/spring
ABC brewery
pros: 1 dollar cheaper than sweetwater, pretty much all you can drink/no tickets checked
Cons: crowd not as chill, beer not as good.
abc wins due to the all you can drink factor :D |

I need cognac glasses.
Drank some here at home out of a beer glass, and then last night at a mates out of scotch glasses. Its just not the same without the big bowl.
I need a matching dressing gown too, just to complete the image:) |

because i love alcohol....i've been saving bottle caps for God knows how long now, and I finally had enough to do an end table today. similar to the coffee table where i put down all the six packs i had been saving and layered it with liquid acrylic, i did the same thing w/ bottle caps on an end table.
It's still a work in progress, as one bottle of liquid was not enough...i'm waiting for it to dry, and then going to add a second coat, so the liquid is all the same height above the caps. There are about 210 caps total (its hard to count that many, especially when they're not in complete order).
The only thing that really kinda sucks is that the wood glue and mod podge that i used to glue the caps down didn't dry as clear as i had hoped....so there are some white spots underneath the caps...but overall, it looks really sweet. check it out:
Had enough to cover it...thus let the gluing begin.

Better shot of glued down caps

Before liquid goo added

Liquid Acrylic added!

Mmmmm, shiney:

the blue tape you see around the edge is painter's tape...but i used it so that when the liquid got towards the edge it wouldn't drip off. plus it'll help keep everything the same height when i add the second coat! |

:p i'm not *that* much of a wordly drinker....pretty much stick to what i like, hahaha. plus there are some brands that the bottle caps were plain and i'm like, wtf that sucks. anyways, noted this in the pictures thread, but figured i'd post it here too:

I'm gonna make a tble like that... after my coming home party I should have more than enough caps hahaha!!
Thats pretty damn cool man! Very creative idea!! |
decided to make another coffee table today too. i had been saving up the six pack boxes (along w/ the caps) for a rainy day (or in this case, a mono-infused sunny day off). so, without further ado:

i put the second coat on the end table...and then set it outside. unfortuantely the heat made the liquid a little more runny instead of solidifying it faster...thus, one of the corners, the liquid moved the tape and ended up spilling over the edge. luckily i noticed this before too long, and put it back inside. also, the heat made the air from underneath the caps bubble up a little bit....so the caps aren't very even at all...but that's all right, it'll just add a touch of class ;)
this coffee table i got from a wood shop down the street and everything stuck way easier than the previous one i had (its a lot easier to paste things down when the wood is unfinished). will need a 3rd coat on that tomorrow, but otherwise, a very successful day in my opinion! |
