Gin on the rocks is a really acquired taste. The first time I made myself a Gin and Tonic I thought I was going to puke... But now there is nothing better sounding during the hot summer months! Well Vodka-Tonic....

Gin is the best of all possible spirits.
I think I have 6 different types, for different drinks and occasions.
The Martini is the best of all possible drinks.
Gin & Tonic is pretty hard to mess up, so it's a good safe bet, though some places can make one ing fantastic.
If someone isn't a big fan of gin I always tell them to try a Tom Collins. Haven't found anyone who dislikes them yet, even if they can't stand Gin & Tonic or Martinis.

To be honest, my experience with Gin was just taking a shot of it. and it was like the $7 bottom of the barrel too (McCormick or something).

as for gin-
I had a realllly terrible experience with it 2 years ago. vowed to never drink it again. last weekend my friend and i were stuck at his place with these 2 russian chicks and all we had to drink was a bottle of beefeater and tonic. i fell in love instantly.
