That's not too different for how things are here though. At least here in Brisbane. Clubs stop serving at 5am, and I think pubs can start serving at 9 or 10am?
Edit: Mind you, that might explain a lot about QLD too :stongue: |

NSW is kind of selective about the open-close times depending on just how often the white trash, islanders, other assorted bogans destroy themselves and anyone nearby.
Club a few k's from here thats an otherwise fairly nice place as far as suburbs go, had this wonderful reputation for glassing's, stabbing, people getting slammed into the footpath, beatings, eye gouging and chunks of hair being torn out... and that was just the women.
Sort of a shame really as it had a nice harbour view and decent restaurant, you just had to get out of there by 8pm or risk losing a limb. |

Brisbane is kinda different like that, in a way. We have two distinct areas in the CBD where there's a high concentration of bars/pubs/clubs, those being "the city" and "the valley".
"The city" is more the mainstream stuff, top 40 music cheaper drinks, lots of footballers and bogans and fighting. "The valley" used to be where the alternative crowd hung out. Never used to be a dress code, lots of cool music, the wankers would generally stay away, and the people out partying would be too drugged up to cause any kind of problem except vomiting here and there.
All the good clubs are still in the valley, but clubbing is so mainstream now, it's just about the same at the city, really.
Then, there are the pubs/RSLs out in the suburbs. Make sure you're smashed by 7pm, and bring a pair of boxing gloves. Or your favourite pint glass/knife. The mega-bogans rutting/breeding ground. Cheap drinks, and EMS are pretty quick to arrive :gsmile: |

Damn this thread has been dead for too long!!
Bought a case of Yuengling lager for 14 bucks today.
Not my favorite beer, but it drinks easy and tastes better than anything in the same price range.
6 down. 18 to go.
