I'm a huge afficiando of belgian beers, probably the most expensive beers, and I know for a fact that kwaak, meredsous 8, meredsous 10, the rocheforts, orval, and most other trappist beers are well below $20 buying them in the traditional 4 packs (which end up being 6 packs given their alcohol content). The US has a very excellent selection of breweries that more than rivals Europe. I'm well versed in the DC/PA area so hit me up if you want suggestions. |

oh and micros fetch 6-9 dollars for six but 10 for twelve is a good sale price, and US(domestic) beers are always cheaper... |

Haha, no probs.
Yeah, Australian beers aren't really that good. There are a few that I definitely enjoy, but we don't really have the Micro-Brewery thing happening here like you guys do, so it's mostly mass produced rubbish.
Expensive rubbish, in comparison, but DEFINITELY better quality than almost (maybe all?) of the US mass produced carbonated urine that I've tried.
High alcohol taxes for the ing lose :(
Edit: What's a pack of cigarettes cost in the States? For example, Drum rolling tobacco? Or anything else? |

umm its like 5 bucks here, but 10 or more in NYC...
depends on state taxes, availability, need, etc. more expensive where more people smoke|
although its much cheaper where the smoke comes from, virginia, north carolina, etc. |

Jesus, I pay about $20 (Australian) for a 50 gram pouch of Drum rolling tobacco. Lasts me about a week or so.

Alcohol in the US is about 7% tax (I think its flat rate from memory), over here it's on a sliding scale depending on it's alcohol content + government excise, + GST
It's why VB started producing a slightly lower alcohol beer than it's normal swill because it saves a bundle on tax to the government.

But I still won't drink VB :p
I don't think I've ever had a beer that s my head up so much the next day. That's just something I don't need. I'm a functional alcoholic dammit! :haha: |

Oh it totally smashed my head apart and that was when I was 18, bulletproof and immune to hangovers... this many years down the track I think you'd have to admit me to hospital the next day, for the next 3 days.
It's chemically brewed, think it's the preservatives in it which hurt the most. |

oh well thats prepacks, sadly i think its cheaper if you roll your own!
but im also not well versed on the prices. 50 gr is likely 2-3 packs of regular smokes right?| |

Consider yourself lucky that they don't really serve XXXX in NSW (if you speak Queenslander, it means 'Beer' as people up here are a bit slow).
WAAAAAAAYYYYY worse than VB or Tooheys :nervous:
Edit: Tooheys ain't so bad though.... Tooheys old is nice-ish.
Edit 2: Yes folks, we Queensland has a beer cleverly named XXXX

Hard to say, I haven't smoked pre-made cigs in years. I can make about 80 smokes per pouch of tobacco? |

I tried XXXX once, it's only redeeming feature is... no it has no redeeming features aside from a toxic level of something which hurts your head. Tooheys is fairly yucky, the Red is the yuckiest, all the way up to the Old which is least gross.
You have to be doing something wrong to wreck a lager, Tooheys seem to have excelled themselves in breaking it though. |
