All Montreal club close at 3...with your only choice afterwords being Stereo and Circus (in the downtown area). Licensed Toronto clubs go until 7am...This is what makes it more difficult to get people out of the party they are already at, to another club with another cover. |

I told myself I wasn't going to comment on this stupid topic anymore but ...

I know people in the rest of the country start partying early compared to Montrealers, but just to let you know, a lot of people that go to Stereo, actually wake up at 4:00am or 5:00am and then get ready to go out. This is why usually a little bit after 5:00am the place get the major wave of people coming in.
| quote: | | What needs to happen is for the gay circuit queens to realize it isn't a circuit party and have some respect and consideration for the str8 crowd and then the respect will be given back. Saturdays at Sonic should not be classified as "gay" or "str8". It should be about the music and the acceptance and openness of everyone, but that goes both ways - keep your shirts on and be there for the party. |
again, it is amazing how a world class city as Toronto is stil hang up in these issues. Respect? so if I keep my t-shirt on I'm respecting the straight people. What else? I guess I should not kiss other man in the dance floor, god knows how many straight people lives I will have ruin with this kiss. What else?
If you haven't realized until now that Afterhours and gay people go together like nothing else, then Toronto, you really don't deserve to have a Temple of House. Sonic is an afterhours club people, not just a club.
and no more reading or posting here - this is stupid. |

My roommate is a gay male.
I have many gay friends.
I help with one of the stages every year at PRIDE.
I've been to a load of gay parties.
I have promoted a couple of gay parties.
I'm cool with anyone, gay or not. I have no issues at all with other people's sexual preference. don't even care about seeing a man kiss another man... no differnt then seeing a man kiss a woman as far as I'm concerned.
But no one likes walking through a crowd at a club, minding their own business, and having a gross sweaty bare back/chest rub against them. Or having one walk by and wipe against them when they're standing or dancing.
Gay or straight, fat or skinny, male or female I don't want to have a stranger's nasty sweat and filth wiped on me... at any club. It would be gross if I was at Guv, it would be gross if it was at Footwork, and it would be gross if it was at a leatherball. |

nothing makes you sweat more than dancing in leather in the extremely under ventilated Opera House. |

Yes, exingactly, thanks Dan.
People need to learn to read whole posts rather than single out one tongue-in-cheek line.
I, too, was there every week. My post was saying "use it or lose it" referring to the darker/dirtier places for house music.
Don't listen to me if you don't want to, I couldn't give a but don't, DON'T quote out of context, that is just ignorant. |

Can you not read the entire post - couldn't you figure out from it that I am gay and I have no issue with you not having your shirt on or kissing another guy. I do have an issue with gay or str8 people making others around them feel uncomfortable because they are dry humping on a dance floor.
If its about the music in the "temple of house" why should one groups actions ruin another groups enjoyment? Gay, STR8, BI, TRANS...whatever, come and party, be who you are, accept others for who they are...just have some respect for the others there. |
