This is on point but it's even worse than that; the people around him are probably going to have more impact and say than trump himself. His official noms so far indicate that he's going to lean incredibly heavily on their connections and established positions to form his policy direction and implementation, rather than selecting people who are good robots as such. Yet the rest of the people around him are being appointed due to their loyalty rather than suitability.
He really didn't prepare for this and that outsider rhetoric while useful in the campaign has meant he's woefully prepared to actually do the job. The pentagon embarrassingly announced that they've been waiting for the Trump administration to meet with them (as is customary for transition) and trump apparently had no idea he was meant to send anyone.
We are seeing though the evolution to trump lite - he's now going to swing to the center and dilute his policies but the question will be if he can sell it without pissing off the angry base that elected him. |

It's not that - it's that he's already had to demote Christie (and probably cut all ties soon) and the he fired two other transition team members already. The story coming out of Washington is that his team is in complete disarray and there's a lot to do between now and Jan 20.
He's also taking serious flack for requesting his kids get security clearance when they have no official roles. |

there's a lot to do in the upcoming 3 months. no doubt
and that story is all that it is.. a story... the media channels are in such competition with each other and so hungry for attention, that they'll report on anything that might make them stand out...
if he takes a and its soft instead of a firm , the media will report that he's battling an unknown stomach virus.

It's not three months though, it two months and he hasn't even met with the pentagon and only has two appointees. Usually by this time, the incoming pres is figuring out that last couple of positions, not filling the first two.

Sure the media is desperate to fill the 24 hour news cycle and in many ways that circus led to the embarrassment of the pollsters as we learned there's no such thing as real time polls, but it's a fact that Trump has admitted to firing multiple people in the transition team. That is a mess in itself but when you factor he's having to fire anyone becuase with Chris Christie who he relied on so heavily is another mess in itself. But then it turns out that when he fired Christie and gave pence that job, Pence hadn't signed the legal red tape required regarding government security/privacy so Pence hasn;t been given any critical info on the transition......as the head of transition for Trump lol.

Actually they kind of do; They run a lot of Trump's business interests and there's incredibly strict laws about conflict of interests, especially with immediate family members. It would be insider trading 101 - with security clearance they'd be privy to information that would greatly affect business decisions, and you could even argue that policy decision could be made (see: russia) that would benefit the Trump kid's holdings.
Kellyann conway, actually let slip that there was an informal request for security clearance: "the inquiries were made very informally, and that's all I know."
......but Trump is denying any form of request whatsoever. oops.
I think it's going to be a mess honestly. |
