Yeah, that's really it - the constant need for a weathervane is sheer folly; Some of these "polls" for certain state's outcome today had a sample pool of less than 1000 people. But again, that's why I feel they're part of the circus. The TV news sector is so desperate to fill up their 24 hours of endless cable feed and they have so little to say that is actually substantive, so they hinge on any morcel of data.
I actually used to work with polling at my last job in london. We did PR for consumer brands and often, we'd go to someone like yougov and essentially engineer where we were, and where we needed to get to. With very simple question structure we got the answer we wanted 90% of them. I think it was literally two campaigns out of maybe a one hundred over two years that didn't give us our target answer. We'd then present the info as "a recent survey conducted by yougive" followed by some shock-horror-clickbaity subjectivity got the result every time.
The long term polls really haven't drifted, despite FBI investigations and gate. It's always been 4% to Hilary, and gee, guess what? Looks like it's going to be 4% today.
I'm actually interested to see if there's any states that swing unexpectedly. It looks like Florida is a done deal but some are saying Georgia could still flip due to the young vote which hasn't been properly measured.
It's going to be tough either way though - the two ends of the country are looking to be blue and the swathe down the middle is deep red. Talk about two Americas. |

Not to talk too much about statistics, but you're all idiots.
On that note, let's just sit back, pray to Jesus/vegan-alternative-of-your-choice, and see what happens, |

| Well, I've got work in the morning, so this will be the first US election in over a decade where I haven't seen the result announced live. I'm just hoping I don't wake up to a Brexit-style sickener. |

So basically, if Hilary wins all the "done deal states" she's already at 270.
If NV, NC and PA go blue (as is currently predicted) she's at 302.
Anymore, it's a landslide. |

After reading here about the emails and how Hillary lies and the liberal media rigged the election I decided to make America great again so...
I VOTED FOR TRUMP
not to be the President |

It's beyond me why anyone assumed this wouldn't be a close call. And 538's numbers are getting tighter and tighter, they're now giving secretary Clinton just 60% of winning, and the NYT is so confused they're giving Trump the victory with Clinton winning the popular vote. |
