Bollocks. My wireless connection went down in the last couple of minutes and I missed the winner.
Great game. All the signs were there in the first half, and it duly exploded after half time. This World Cup just keeps on giving. |

| I'm still trying to figure out why japan didn't decide to park the bus after the second goal and just wait for the counter opportunities. Im not saying the score would have been different, but they were very naive to still be pressing that high up in the pitch like they were looking for a third. |

| The first two goals they conceded were from high balls into the box. Belgium had bigger and stronger players and would have pumped even more crosses in if Japan had sat deeper. Maybe they should have waited for extra time at the end, but they were getting tired, and at 2-2 you have to attack again at some point. |

| Fair enough, but I still think that would have been their best option and there was a lack of experience. They were having a lot of speed on the flanks the whole game and Meunier for one kept getting caught. They should have just trusted and capitalised if possible. Great showing nonetheless. |

| Actually, having watched the replays again, the first two Belgian goals are from corner-kicks, so it didn't have anything to do with Japan's high press. |

Corners conceded and a result of Japan's attacks from the wings.
Also they were passing the ball very well up the pitch even on the slower attacks. They were finding themselves in very dangerous areas the times they could keep possession. There were many tactical mistakes from both sides, a more experienced and cold Japan could have gotten the job done. |
