I agree with you that there's a weird delay, and it doesn't make him look good. But, that's why I asked "what was he to do?" if that happened right under the referee's nose and nothing was being done. If anything, it may well have helped Layun by annoying the referee, because it was a blatant red (or yellow) card for Layun.
I get it, he's the spaghetti-haired boy who cried wolf, and yeah, he's quite a bit over the top (and, maybe it's a cultural glitch, but I can't say I don't find his flamboyant theatrics entertaining). But, this time around, there was a wolf, not a flop. Even because, let's face it, Neymar ain't got nothing on Key & Peele:

I feel like all of you as a nation should put more faith in your talent. Sterling for one is a player with brilliance in the veins of a neymar and hazard. If only he felt he had you guys behind him he might turn up more often. Same with the man city fans.

You know what I hate about this game? England are the better team, but no team that advanced as the second place of the group made it to the quarter-finals without home advantage.
