| I must say, I'm feeling very unconfident about England's chances tonight. The draw is just too open to be true. I'm glad I placed a pre-tournament bet on England exiting in the Round of 16. |

| If the refs are not protecting one of our most valuable players because they think he's a bitch, and he keeps getting fauled, let him act up until the referees catch on. You people sound like the ing idiot Americans like Igk that watch football every four years and act like they know about it. Stop fauling him and he'll stop falling over its very simple. He got stepped on, period. That's a red card for violent conduct. Shut the up now. |

Dilemma: Referees aren't protecting a player because they feel he's over-reacting.
Solution: Over-react even more!
Also, you might want to learn how to spell basic terminology like "fouled" correctly before telling people they don't understand the sport. |

Yes of course, blame the overreacting player and not the ones doing the fouling.

| And you should check yourself before you start giving me english lessons, because as i've pointed out twice in this thread you've proven your degree to be a worthless piece of paper. |

Damn right, because most of the time he isn't even being fouled. He's looking for carte blanche to try risky dribbles, and he goes down constantly when he overruns the ball. If you start rolling around pathetically after mild and legal contact, it completely undermines those hilarious overreactions when they follow real fouls.
The alternative is that refs believe his histrionics and give fouls whenever he asks for them. Of course, biased Brazil fans would love that. If he just reacted normally and proportionally, he'd get normal and proportional refereeing. |

You're welcome, DJ Rann, the prophecy is happening and you won't have to worry any more :p

Come on Lira, that image shows exactly what Neymar does a lot. The Mexican player didn't even put pressure, which is why Neymar was late to react, only after seeing the foot away. It was intentional trolling. |
Like I said, he may have "embellished", but he had been tackled without the ball prior to that, and the refere was so close to Neymar he could've used the referee's legs as headrest, yet the referee was looking the other way. What was he to do?
Do I prefer to believe I'd have handled the situation as an English gentleman if I were him? Yes. Do I blame Neymar for going from "crying wolf" to "bawling like he's just been amputated"? Not on this particular occasion (can't say I condone his diving in the group stage though). |

Weird. I've read that article all the way through and I still can't see any stat for number of times Neymar claimed he was fouled against fouls actually given, nor any kind of analysis as to how that ratio compares to other players. Must be my Maths A-Level acting up this time. |
