I just wanna say, a Uruguay side without Cavanni is not a hopeless one. There is plenty to work with. Urugay does not have a shallow bench. |
i don't know man , i do agree with you , but i think they need cavani for a game this big for that extra quality up front..in any case i feel like its been a soccer drought since Tuesday, this wc has been addicting, and mls games just dont compare. |

Maybe if he played in The Premier League it would become clear, not? |
Definitely! If you put Neymar in England just for a month, it's just a matter of time until he starts tackling his own teammates, sculling beer with the referee during the halftime interval, and just yelling like a yob at the crowd for being sissies and not getting in the field with him :p
...
I really want him to play for Liverpool now. |

I don't think they're hopeless without him, just a bit... defanged. I could always be wrong though. |
France's defense is crazy too... He would help open things up a bit.... But we'll see, maybe Suarez goes SS3 and gets 2 goals |

The Economist is making the case for this being an extremely predictable World Cup:

Apparently, 2002 takes the cake as the most messed up of World Cups in recent history. Of course, they're using the same Elo ratings I was talking about earlier, and I understand not everyone is a fan. Still, saying this World Cup is full of upsets is like saying there are so many teams losing, you wouldn't be surprised if only two teams reached the final :toothless
This post may age badly if we lose to Belgium and football goes back home :p

| This Friday afternoon kick off sucks a bag of dicks. Who does it benefit? Certainly not the public in France or Uruguay, and certainly not me sat in the office unable to watch. |

Works perfectly for me :D
I get to watch France vs Uruguay at 7am while working out then the Brazil Belgium game at my desk at 11am.
Apparently tens of thousands of Belgian fans have signed up to chug a beer every time Neymar falls to the ground:

The Belgian ambulance service must be bracing themselves :nervous: |

Looks like we'll see FRA x BRA and CRO x ENG soon.

What are we talking about? The world now knows Mbappe ain't no Neymar just yet... At least, not when it comes to diving :p |

Given that they're Belgians, they'll just stay hydrated :p |

| Lira you seem way too confident, bro. I think you underestimate the opponent. |

They conceded two goals to Japan, a team that barely squeezed through thanks to having fewer yellow cards, and we have the greatest smile of the World Cup:

I feel it's to bask in the glory of Firmino's beautiful great white teeth |
