Sometimes his mixing is off but the trax he spins makes up for it. He spun all his trax into crap the first night at TIC Gelredome. But the 2nd nite was OMG!!! I've tried to play that 9 hr set every day... Just aren't enough hours in one day

If I knew he would play the way he did on his request hour I'd kill to go see him..the rest imo was pretty standard, the same kind of thing him/Armin/Ferry have been doing when they have marathon sets for quite a while. |

There are never any guarantees when seeing a dj, they have their good days and bad ones just like everyone else.
I can only say that everytime I've seen him he has just been amazing and the crowd is crazy in a good kinda way. But if you've never seen him LIVE I do suggust you go at least one time. I think it will change your attitude about Tiesto. |

I have seen him live, twice in fact...
He wasn't bad, but my opinion of Tijs and the other big name trance djs have dropped in the past year, largely in part due to doing the same thing as one another, with Tijs having a slightly harder edge (which granted, I do like)...but his mixing is imo inexcusable for how much he gets paid, not to mention baffling; how the hell can you dj for that long and not know how to beat match well? The occasional slip up is no big deal, but I can't remember the last time I've heard a set from him that doesn't sound like it could be mixed by a kid who's only used decks for a few days...
If he learned to mix and played his harder style instead of the Armin-ish trance that everyone plays, I'd love him again :) |
