Irene is good when she bashes your brains in hard....not when she starts with a slam and then whimpers through the rest of the set. Never seen A&B but a lot of folks like them in the T-Dot. |

seems as tho mandy is off for the time being, the listing is removed from TCA and coclubs website.
oh and kris dunno if you ever got a response on dmb, but I'd be shocked if you paid more than $15 for loco dice. just depends on what time you show up and who you know :p |

Yeah, I figure it'll be around that much which is fine - didn't expect that much flak for asking cover - sheesh! Sat night is going to be a late one so I think if we go to Loco (which, at this point, seems likely), it'll be an earlier night. Let me know if you head to Loco - been itching to see him since last year at WMC. |

I disagree. Irene is never good. And she's a primadonna. One of my friends was running sound at a show that she played. She kept cranking the volume and he told her to stop, while turning the amps down. She did it again and he turned the sound of in the middle of her set. I have no respect for djs that don't respect the sound they're using. She's apparently very nice if you have though. Rant over. |

True.
But she still knocked my skull in one night in Pontiac so I have some respect for the woman. But I probably won't shell out to see her now that Chus & Ceballos are coming and I've been reminded of Jeff Mills. :)

No bubble to burst - the LA NYE show is both Dec 30th AND Dec 31st so I assume he'll be in LA Dec 30th and in Montreal Dec 31st - Tribe already has info up for it. :p
I don't post this unless its confirmed - I don't dance around the office for nothing, yo.

so 2 things.
1. are you goin to Mont for NYE for Lawler?
2. review from sat night? i didn't make it lol.
the girls said bbb was mediocre (not surprising imo, but whatever)
i'm more interested in your thoughts on Damien Lazarus. |

Sat night -
Jonas Tempel and the other opener kicked it hard - I was very impressed as always. When BBB came on, he started off nice and hard but then some more vocally house came in and we got bored with the set. It was still far better than times I've seen him previous but not quite as banging as the Skylab set. For 2am, we went and it was alright. The upstairs room was playing trippy techno minimal sounds which, while good tunage, was not enough to keep me dancing. The downstairs would fluctuate too much between soothing haus and hard haus so we finally called it quits around 4:30am and headed home. All in all, I had a blast - not as many costumes out as I would have thought but the Dead Jesus costume my roommate made had more than a few people asking him for his blessings. He even smoked a ciggy with Satan, lol.
And in answer to NYE, Lawler looks like my ticket thus far. Tribe is a nice small, dark venue with great sound and, because he's the only DJ thus far, I am betting it's a 5-6 hour set which is sick. Granted, seeing him in combo with S&D and the rest would be cool but it'll probably be a 2 hour set and the venue won't come close to the vibe I want for NYE. :) VIVA LA CANADA!
