My friends attended. They advised me that the crowd was lame. Every freaken room now is VIP. wtf??? | The days leading up to friday I was completely excited about going up to see Tiesto, but friday I woke up too early and just didn't feel like going. Plus, the weather was crap.
I've come to expect the crowds being lame when I go up and see anybody now. Its a real downer but I guess I'm a loner when I say I go for the music. |

it sucks when dj's are booked for saturdays. that's when you have a huge mix of what kinda people are in the crowd, hence why it was lame. go on thursdays, or go to vinyl...their atmosphere is way better.
carriegsxr6: as far as every room at the church being VIP, that's not even close to being right. there's a VIP room at the top of the stairs at the back of the club, but other than that there's nothing. unless, for some weird reason, the church made more VIP rooms just cuz tiesto was there....never heard of anything like that happening, though.
EDIT:ignore me, i'm high. i type without knowing what i'm talking about. |

Tiesto was at Vinyl and I know what she means about the VIP situation. I don't mind it, but there are VIP areas everywhere. I was outside flyering from about 1:30 on and he was actually playing some pretty sweet tracks. I was surprised.
Charles Feelgood ripped it up at Vinyl on Saturday. Reminded me of a Hernan set. Very nasty and dark and driving. |

He was at vinyl, spinning boring as hell tunes... seemed like mostly stuff from isos 4 and a few trancey tunes thrown in here and there. I don't like his new style.
Vinyl creeeps me out, did you guys know it use to be a crematorium in the old days? Thank god they removed those old vaults from the basement... but it still creeps me out.
How old are you guys? Did you ever go to vinyl before the blizzard caved it in? |

Ha ha ha. Well then think about the church.
I have been going to Vinyl since 2000. I wasnt there for the blizzard but the blizzard back in Oct 1998 was pretty ed up too. |

| Hey are there any goth rockers in here? Seraphim Shock played out here last weekend at Bar Sinister. I know that they are playing at the Ogden on the 18th but I will have flown back to LA earlier that day. I would love to be able to get a package to Charles from my girl Brandy. She wants to be one of their dancers. Well please PM me where the happening goth/rock clubs are in Denver. ;) |

Why the hell wouldn't he be pushing ISOS4??? That's exactly what he's touring for, it's even on the flyer you posted.
IMO Vinyl used to be way cooler, you can still watch the DJ somewhat from the ledge but there's not nearly the interaction which made it such a good club. |

I'm not a big Tiesto fan anymore, but the last few tracks in his set were sounding pretty good (granted I heard them from outside, but they came through pretty well). At least it wasn't his oversynthed Traffic sounding tracks that he's been playing for the last couple of years.
I've been going to Vinyl since 2000 or 2001. Can't remember, but I know I went before finishing college. |

Don't everyone jump on me for being a noob here... but I agree on the music... the last 45 minutes or so were pretty sick, and Tiesto had the crowd on a string. Early in his set he dropped some good tracks and progressions, but there was about an hour where he tapered off with some of the pop crap that has filled up so many of his recent CD releases.
I didn't this break in the middle too much, as the crowd was so packed in to the arena -- been going to Vinyl for a long time and never seen this many people -- dancing wasn't an option.
Yeah, it would have been nice to see a 4-hour progression set and yeah, it would have been better if the crowd weren't as massive and yeah, it would have been nice to have a crowd that was less responsive to the pop and more responsive to smooth transitions and strong progressions... but hard to really complain about a decent Tiesto set at a Denver club for $20. (especially after I paid $75 a week earlier for Tiesto and Deep Dish at Ice in Vegas) |
