Now that I'm alive again, here's my review.
I got there for the last 45 mins of Audiofly's set - it was very good. Nice techy flowing haus - and they did NOT play Audion's Mouth to Mouth - DJ Rap did that instead. :P
Dj Rap started out confused as all hell - more like "WTF?!" mixing. SHe got into the flow for a bit there but then Mouth to Mouth came on so we left for Fortier.
Fortier started out slower than I like in my techno but he built it up to a great level and the tracks were topnotch. That last remix of Personal Jesus was fackin' nassssty! I want to know where it came from.
Made it a longer night and went to 2 AM for more Audiofly - they redid the place again by putting a roof over the outdoor smoking section and also putting up a wall that divides the place into two rooms. One room (main) was Audiofly and the other was hip-hop circa 2000. At least you can get your hooch and your dance on in the same place now. Audiofly did a decent job at 2 AM but I liked the set at Vinyl better.
Highlight of the night: Raver Santa Claus in full Santa suit. |

we got sent home, a drive that normally takes me 15 minutes took 1 hr 45 min.

Ditto on the getting paid fixing my first drink.....we're heading to the Dark Horse across the street in a bit for happy hour. Wheee for snowdrunkwalks. :p |

lmao - luckily, the pizza joint near the Dark Horse was open as well - they shut the Horse down at 9pm last night! - so pizza and beer and back home to shovel the 2 feet of snow out of the driveway so the car could get out. :)
And it's snow day #2 for me. I was supposed to start driving back to Michigan tomorrow - here's hoping the roads are cleared. |
