Do not confuse a conspiracy with a “conspiracy theory”; they are not one and the same. Of course conspiracies exist!

This kind of false dichotomy approach is really silly. It’s no better than Bush’s “You’re either with us, or against us”. Surely you appreciate that there is plenty of “space” in between extremes?
Firstly, I certainly don’t believe everything the US media tells me. The US media, with a few exceptions, is a horrible blend of “info-tainment” that normally serves conservative interests and stifles real debate. Nothing I know about 911 or the Federal Reserve or “chemtrails” etc conspiracies has anything to do with the media.
Its about assessing EVIDENCE and appreciating the respectability of sources. There is no evidence to support the claims that the US government planted thermite in the twin towers and WTC7 and brought them down via “controlled demolition”. Indeed, every piece of evidence we have says exactly the opposite. Thousands of relevant professionals have examined the facts, and we know, more or less, what occurred that day. Small inconsistencies and unknowns will always exist, but they are not reason enough to entertain fantasy.
Here is a simple guide from wiki which explains what a conspiracy theory is, and why it is different from a conspiracy. If you have any particular concerns about a particular conspiracy theory, and wish to ask questions, im more than happy to provide answers, just so long as you’re honest about it.

Appeals to 'common sense';
Common sense steps substitute for the more robust, academically respectable methodologies available for investigating sociological and scientific phenomena.
7. Exhibits well-established logical and methodological fallacies;
Formal and informal logical fallacies are readily identifiable among the key steps of the argument.
8. Is produced and circulated by 'outsiders', often anonymous, and generally lacking peer review;
Story originates with a person who lacks any insider contact or knowledge, and enjoys popularity among persons who lack critical (especially technical) knowledge.
9. Is upheld by persons with demonstrably false conceptions of relevant science;
At least some of the story's believers believe it on the basis of a mistaken grasp of elementary scientific facts.
10. Enjoys zero credibility in expert communities;
Academics and professionals tend to ignore the story, treating it as too frivolous to invest their time and risk their personal authority in disproving.
11. Rebuttals provided by experts are ignored or accommodated through elaborate new twists in the narrative;
When experts do respond to the story with critical new evidence, the conspiracy is elaborated (sometimes to a spectacular degree) to discount the new evidence, often incorporating the rebuttal as a part of the conspiracy.' |

But you’re right, I am a “bully” when confronted with liars, charlatans and congenital idiots. If someone is honestly asking questions though, im happy to provide what small amount of knowledge I have in order to address their concerns. If they’re full-on infected with the woo, then yes, I have a tendency to be rude and obnoxious. This is because, after ~7 years of their bull, I am tired of the lies and deceit. I could choose to be more polite and respectful, but I don’t believe these people deserve it. hell, they’re disrespecting thousands of dead people and thousands of professional investigators, surely reaping what you sow isn’t all my fault!
In the end, I have CT fatigue yet still drawn to their stupidity for some bizarre reason. Somebody has to stand up to these liars and frauds, else they have a tendency to fool or confuse others. I don’t care that they disagree with me, I care that they’re intellectually dishonest. |

Well, that’s fine. I’ve never pretended that im a charming, polite person (though everyone has their moments!). you have to realise though that CTs are a pet peeve of mine and since they are immune to facts and logic, polite discourse is almost always out of the question. I know this because I’ve been following their exploits, across many forums, for the best part of a decade. But like I said, if someone just has an honest concern (like 1dawoman had above) im happy to talk to them about, insults temporarily at bay.
I mean, if you encountered a member of the KKK, would you attempt to explain to them that blacks and jews are not subhuman? Or what you call them a cunt? Neither are capable of changing their mind, but the latter is somewhat more satisfying :) |
