| Thanks for the link. I dont get why some people are appalled by this post. If you dont like it then dont watch it.. And if you do watch it, it doesnt necessarily mean you agree with the movie's views. Relax people. |

its because they are myopic and have been indoctrinated to react this way. as you mentioned, just because you watch it it doesn't mean you believe it. i'm sure there has been enough trash out there that people here have watched and/or listened to either online, on tv or on the big screen. does it mean that you believe in it? NO so why not give this a chance? people who slam the door on other points of views without being open-minded to those ideas will never be able to make their own decisions. for them, its easier to just buy into 1 point of view that they have been conditioned to think and believe their whole lives. people like this need to think outside of the box for a moment and draw their own conclusion.
Does anyone here have the answers on life, religion, the afterlife? NO, nobody. whatever it is you believe in, was it something that you yourself sought answers to? did you research all aspects of these religions and belief systems to draw your own conclusion? probably not. instead you just hold on to what you've been fed all your lives because its easy and doesn't require thought. this post was not to convert anyone into this belief system. it was just to share this point of view with those who welcome it. |

Interestingly, I have actually done the research you speak of, but that's really neither here nor there. Do you honestly believe every person that dismisses the link you've posted does so in an attempt to protect their world-view or out of laziness? Could it not be that they prefer information from more credible sources, don't have 2 hours to devote to a movie that will only contain snipits of information that (if the other two "sources" you reference are any indication) will be presented out of context and in such a manner as to urge the viewer toward an imperfect (to be charitable) understanding? Perhaps, many dismiss this out of hand because the source has proven itself to be unreliable... kind of how we all dismiss North Korea's internally generated statistics and demographic information. Furthermore, if they take that view then would it not be reasonable for them to disway peope from being mislead by misinformation?
It seems that you're immediate move to characterize all those who challenge as myopic, indoctrinated, conditioned, and by inference closed-minded is nothing more than the inverse of what you accuse them of being.
BTW, I'm still waiting on a Coles Notes version. |
