Both buildings used a completely different design type..... as in, not even remotely close to comparable.
WTC 1 and 2 were completed in the early 70's.... before the advent of computer modeling in design. Wile it has been documented that the buildings were designed with the consideration for airplane impacts, this was done at a time that predated modern FEA design process and computer modeling/simulation. The results of any calculations completed back in teh 70's to predict the effect of any kind of plane impact would have been inaccurate at best.... the sheer number of iterations would have been staggering as one would have to compute all the reactionary forces and deflections for a projectile impacting the structure from every possible critical trajectory and location. Since the full structural analysis document for the whole building was only 1200 pages including appendices, its safe to conclude that a rigorous iterative approach to these calculations were not taken (nor was it standard practice at that time to do so)
The only building you could compare to WTC1 is WTC2 as they had similar design and very similar failure modes.
