well... here we go. i think i'm gonna start rooting for the braves.
after a whole year of Duquette saying that he will not 'sell the farm,' he did just that. Ty Wigginton, Matt Peterson, Jose Diaz, Justin Huber, and Scott Kazmir are ALLLLLLLLLL gone. and what do we have to show for it? Kris Benson and Victor Zambrano. this is really ridiculous. rick peterson better work ing MIRACLES with both of them... i dont even know what to say... im stunned. we should've just traded reyes for soriano in the begining of the year. if this is the direction we're going in, might as well go all out. ughhh... its gonna be a long time before i turn up at shea again. |

umm... albert pujols.
2001 - .329, 37 homers, 110 runs, 130 rbis
2002 - .314, 34 homers, 118 runs, 127 rbis
2003 - .359, 43 homers, 137 runs, 124 rbis
2004 - .323, 30 homers, 89 runs, 75 rbis (obviously this year isn't finished)
yeah... we're looking at the next ELITE player right there. not great player. we're not talking your run of the mill thome's, or nomar's, or jeter's... we're talking the next bonds. when bonds is done, pujols is more than ready to step up and take over his role. he was the first person in history to reach .300 avg, 30 homers, 100 rbis, and 100 runs in his first three seasons. and guess what? he's going to do it again this year. 11 more runs and 25 more runs batted in. and he has 20 months to do it. this kid is fantastic. he will be in the top three hitter category once bonds is gone (arguably could be in it now, but i still put vlad at #3, manny # 2.) pujols will be about 26 or 27 by then. he'll definitely be the best by then. if there were ANY hitter i could take knowing he'd be with my team for 5 or more years, he'd be it. (pitcher would likely be ben sheets cause prior gets injured too much). he's going to be a legend. of course this is all bearing that he continues to put up these numbers. but... he IS only 24. so theres no reason to believe that he won't (barring injury). |

| Highmay |
Holy Highmay the Cardinals have such a squad now it's ridiculous...
Tony Womack
Ray Lankford
Albert Pujols
Jim Edmonds
Larry Walker
Scott Rolen
Edgar Renteria
Mike Matheny
my god what a lineup.... |
|
|
| Shamez214 |
forgetting Reggie Sanders?
but i think besides the yankees, the cubs have the best 5 man lineup in the majors.
Nomar
Alou
Sosa
Lee
Ramirez
though the cardinals definitely have the best 3 man lineup...
Pujols
Edmonds
Rolen
closest would be:
Abreu
Thome
Burrell |

Mwahahaha! At least we have David Wright.
I hope they sign Delgado and trade for Wilkerson. Trade Floyd for whatever you can get. |
