Cris Carpenter and Roger Clemens are having better seasons than Pedro Martinez. |
First of all... is that not allowed?
Second, Pedro has been hurt by the big hit more so than these guys. Other than that, Pedro's been better than all.
Pedro is leading the majors in DIPS ERA, which is defense independent ERA. Assumes that every pitcher has the same defense and blah blah.
Pedro - 2.71
Carpenter - 2.79
Clemens - 2.81
Pedro leads the majors in ERC, which is ERA based on hits and walks and nothing else.
Pedro - 1.67
Clemens - 1.69
Carpenter - 2.04
Pedro leads the majors in WHIP.
Pedro - 0.88
Clemens - 0.95
Carpenter - 0.99
Pedro is 3rd in Pitches per inning, behind Carlos Silva and Roy Halladay.
Pedro - 13.9
Carpenter - 14.2
Clemens - 15.4
Clemens is leading in OPS against.
Clemens - .519
Pedro - .539
Carpenter - .574
Plus... I find it hard to believe that someone with a career 1.38 WHIP & .272 BAA and 4.28 ERA suddenly puts everything together and becomes Orel Hershiser. So... yeah.
Anyway, take this however you want to take it. I know pitchers wins mean more to you than anything else. :p |

HA HA lol
I knew that would get under your skin and get you to come up with all these various stats from hell. I wrote that thinking of you. :) But I look at ERA, WHIP, and wins. Clemens' ERA is just too hard to overlook though man. Wow!
But I respect your stat analysis! :clown: |

I knew that. But I can't help myself. Especially when I do look at the stats and they all overwhelmingly aide my position. :p |

1/2 game on the A's at least
It was Moose's turn to pitch a good game since he's so up and down. |

| that must have been one of the funniest things i have ever seen...EVER... |

After sweeping the Cubs, the Mets still can't play away from Shea, and are still frustrating to watch
Just as they're right there in the wild card race, Pedro delivers a stinker, lasting just 5 innings, and giving up 5 runs. There goes his Cy Young chances.
At least David Wright made a spectacular bare-handed catch, one of the best defensive plays of the year |

yup, funny indeed
thought it seemed scary at first
another 1-run game, but this time going to the White Sox
Indians are now tied with Yanks for the 2nd in the wild card race, both chasing the A's
This was after they scored 11 runs in the 9th against the Royals |
