Ummm... last few starts? He hasn't given up over 3 ERs in a start since April 24th. His ERA has only dropped after every start since then... If he keeps this up, the Mets have a super solid 1-2-3 in Petey, Benson, and Zambone. |

I love being wrong!! Al Leiter is pitching brilliantly, 8 k's through 6 innings? He's pitching like he's known for, not the old man he's been this year. I'm eating it up.
Awesome, at least for a day.
:D |

I called it.
I also call this being Al's ONLY good start for the rest of the year. I give him three starts after tonight before going to the bullpen or being released. |

i'll go against you and say he pitches well enough to go the rest of the way in the starting rotation. :toocool: |

Best of luck to you. But, being a Mets fan ( ;) ), I've seen enough of Al Leiter... I'm willing to put money down that he has NOTHING left. |

As a Yankees fan..... ;)
He sure pitched better than the long line of retards that have been the 5th starter this year but I am also withholding judgement and skeptical. I mean he really sucked with the Marlins this year. Maybe it's the power of the pinstripes or the NY on his chest? No?
We'll see but Douchebag is back tomorrow and Pavano back in 2 weeks. Not like that is saying much... |

agreed.. but as of right now, i think he is a better option than pavano, wright, brown, and dare i say it.. maybe even moose. |

| Whoa... how can you say Leiter is a better option than any of those 4??? Have you looked at Leit's stats this year? They are horrendous. He's probably been the worst starter in the majors this year... |

honestly i really hadnt paid attention to him this year. was he that bad? i'll have to look it up.
otherwise he pitched great tonight and i know he has been a superb pitcher in the past with great enthusiasm.
if nothing else, maybe that enthusiasm will rub off on our other guys.
i think it was a great move. we'll see. |
