dude this is Music Discussion. Thank god it's not all We All Love the Same Music Discussion. I for one would never come here if every thread was praiseworthy and OMG I DIE MARKUS OWNS j00. Thank god there are people who express the opinions and who let others know that not everyone likes the same . This aint the greater German Reich here kamerade...it's TA, and no one ever has the same opinions as the next person, and that's the beauty.

That's precisely my point. Pop music doesn't require you to think. It's stupid music from which exclusive listeners of are stupid themselves.
Other more intelligent forms of music are not about analyzing every track you listen to. You can easily get lost in them as well as any other. It's about being able to deeply analyze them if you want to. The pop crowd are content to sit back and feed off of the simple melodies, emotions, and vocals that the music forces (or tries to force) upon them. Stupid people let pop overcome their emotions. Smart people see pop for what it is...fun simple music to be enjoyed in small doses. Epic Trance = Bad Pop.

My point is that Epic Trance is bad.
The criteria for that is that while being pop music in itself isn't a bad thing, the fact that everyone involved in the scene tries to pretend that it isn't makes it BAD. You, the DJ's, the producers, are all too narrow-minded to see that your music has the same goals as Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake or Eurodance or any other popular music. Only what those people put out is better than Epic Trance because everyone involved doesn't pretend that their music is anything other than pop music. Epic Trance is not serious music. It's just as silly as Eurodance or Nu-Italo. The judges? People who have been producing/DJing/or who have been with trance since it began. Anyone who looks objectively at the history of trance, the state it was in and the state it is in, can clearly see this. If you haven't looked you're just ignorant. If you have looked and you don't see my point, you're just stupid.
Hmm...I wonder if there are any contradictions in there anywhere... |

That's elitism. I share your opinion to a certain extent that epic trance is a form of pop music, but i don't think anyone should be called stupid just because he would enjoy it. |
