Wrong, wrong, wrong. So amazingly wrong. Bluntly, amazingly, fantastically wrong. That's a massive simplification. I could lists scores of uplifting, melodic tracks I like, even ones I love.

The funniest is when the "Elitists" can't even agree with each other about what is cool.

It has nothing to do with what is "cool." That's just a convenient way to dismiss the opinions of people who don't praise every record pressed.

There's no secret cabal of elitists plotting about what to say is good. Only people with varying amounts of experience in dance music applying that knowledge to form opinions about what they hear. And it's natural that those opinions will not always agree (I mean, seriously, where's the love for Wir Sind Wir? I don't understand!)

I'm just finding it funny how your quick enough to write off the people that are blinkered to Armin and your showing the exact same blinkers with PVD :stongue:

ing couldnt be bothered reading the other 15 pages after this... but you're so right Frase :) *hi-5*

Furthermore I dont listen to ASOT/GDJB etc (well rarely)... and I dont like it either... but my basic statement about this would be this:
Once a week is too damn much for a top jock to do a radio show... we've seen in the past that this doesnt work... it only affects them in the long run
Now Perry O'Neil is going to do a radio show once a week also
B-I-G mistake
Dont like him particularly either, but he's bound to go down the same road Armin is going now
Hell Armin will probably win DJ Mag Top 100 this year... and then itll be another year full of bashing the #1
Its so simple but yet they all go and make the same mistakes

I agree. Weekly is just too pressing on the DJ and weakens the material in general.

How?

There simply isn't enough solid material to make a weekly show in a given genre viable (of new material, I'm not counting shows that work into the past as well; they have plenty to draw from).

Forcing a weekly rotation pushes DJs to front excessive amounts of material, which at that pace often means mediocre material. That further lowers the standard expected of the DJ, which trickles down to the scene as a whole.
