Some people just dont like Armin van Buuren full stop, no matter what their reasons, and will never like him no matter what he does or what hes associated with
and Ian, replace popular with hyped? im sure deep down theirs a few tracks youve liked but ashamed to admit ;) |

yeh the days when armin would play the odd dj nukem track were so much better for him, it looked for a while like he might be able to take a slightly different direction to the usually ott trance nonsense. |

I think a lot of people have given a lot of very valid reasons in this thread as to why they dont like him, but in true asot fan style you have pretty much ignored every single one. |

I Can honestly say that I've only liked about 5 tunes all year that Armin has played on ASOT :p It's not because I'm an elitist or anything, I love allsorts of trance from Epic to Hard to Techy to Psychedelic/goa, I'd rather not just listen to whatevers hot just cos a dj or internet crowd seem to think it is tho, but make an opinion up myself based on the quality of the track. To do this I just wait until people stop talking about it and then decide for myself what it's like, but now I do find more that I don't like than what I do, esp in the last 2 years |

lol i havnt ignored everyone. In my eyes you havnt posted a constructive comment neither has anyone else. You wont define what Generic Trance is, you wont provide examples of "interesting tunes" because you probably know hes played it at some stage or another. |

read up ^ ive given you examples. There have been plenty of constructive things said in this thread and if you cant see that you really are a blind. |

and dont say 'oh but hes a trance dj' because PvD is a 'trance' dj according to everyone on these forums, and he still manages to play some of the best most interesting stuff going.

this is not about PvD, its about why people dont like Armins show
so far ive gathered one point of the opposite view: His Trance and Progressive shows are not diverse enough for some people. They lack creativity.
but im still struggling to find any examples of creative and interesting Trance and Progressive tracks that Armin hasnt played yet :conf: |
