| i think we can agree on a general consensus that ASOT happens way too often to keep a continued quality over quantity on the air. |

HELL YES I WOULD...and so would TTA....

I said this before and I will say this again. Walk the talk. If you DID host a show like that I'd worship you irrespective of the fact that your tunage would be generic/repetitive(if that were the case). If it were not, I would respect you even more.
Regardless of the music,I would still stand up to you because of your consistent effort and enthusiasm.
Very sadly, you don't.
Therefore, quit the bull and hypocrisy.

Armin gets ridiculous exposure with ASOT...he would be NO ONE without that show....what he gets from ASOT is priceless.... |
My point was that Armin does not make any money directly off the show. ID&T radio does NOT pay Armin to host his show. It is self-explanatory that he gets tremendous exposure. Anyone hosting a frequent show like that with numerous online streamers and global coverage would get that exposure. Thus, his immense popularity is largely attributed to that. You speak of it like its unethical or cheap. Is that so?

you never took business in school did you?
|
No I did not.It seems like you did. Did you pass it? ;).
But it's odd. I've been taught that business not only requires a business acumen but common sense as well. The latter seems to be non-existent in your case. |

Agreed. A weekly show is TOO frequent. Fortnightly would be perfect imo. |

I'd like to summmarize the whole thread.
Elitists: Armin,Markus and A&B are detrimental to the trance scene because they are overflooding the market by promoting repetitive/ generic music that is ridiculously over-rated and overhyped. Tunes that deserve more credibility are not getting that and a lot of potentional talent is suffering as a result. In addition, the frequency of their radio shows is far too high and the majority of their sets lack originality and freshness.
To all the elites: Is this pretty much what you guys are trying to say?
ASOT Supporters: Simply put, the trio are not plagarizing the trance scene.
My thoughts and a proposed general consensus:
The 3 need to cool down a bit and reduce the frequency of their shows. Secondly, they are releasing too much material in too less a timespan and a lot of their remixes/productions are not as good as they could sound. A little or a lot more variety would certainly help as well.
Now, where's the peace pipe?

Though, I don't think that's an elitist-only view. I don't consider myself an elitist, because lots of people here know more than I do. Rather, that is an opinion of mine.

I agree.
But the topic was about us not being able to say "We don't like ASOT." It's nice that we have our issues clear, but the whole point of this was to defend our right to free-speech. |

Now now..cool down old man. Act your age. |

| ^ act your age? Bro, this is a music DISCUSSION forum, where opinions go left n right...no one is trying to impress the other, by acting cool or his her age..if no one typed controversial things or different opinions then honesty there wouldnt be much to discuss, we'd be sitting here wanking at the blank screen...words are the only way we can get something across, obviously. |

It's really really sad to see a 28 year old act like that. My 15 year old cousin says that when she wants her way.
My point being that none of us can impose our views on anyone of us. Any attempt to do so is extremely childish and immature. I cannot change the way you think and vice-versa.At most, I can interpret your opinion, give it some thought and judge for myself whether I completely/partially agree or don't agree at all. You would probably do the same. |

I never really understood people obsession with Armin. Years ago when people asked me about Armin, i said he is a little kid copying Tiesto and Ferry. That's all he did back then if you ask me....
His productions suck if you ask me, unless he collabarates(sp?) with someone else and his shows are nothing special.
I place Armin in the same category as Gielen...fluffy floaty look at me i am so cool cus i took "E" crappy trance.
I never bothered with Markus.....i am not so keen on the radio shows...thats where i agree with TTA....and that guy Buster i wanna beat several times with a heavy piece of mining equipment...so i stay clear of GDJB with their prentious wanna-be old school van Diepen's Dance Department circa 1999. |
Grinz,we "oldies" should be so freakin glad we had that period of classy trance:)
Nowadays ppl dont know where u talk bout when they start to "enjoy" this scene,u cant discuss with ppl who dunno what u are talkin bout.
All they know bout that is what they read or heard. |
