Eh? I don't even know why people are taking anything I say seriously. I'm the last person you should argue with or take advice from concerning any kind of music. I never really try to get people to listen. I know that most won't. In fact I think this is the first time someone has.
I'm not a smart man just because I use proper punctuation and grammar in my posts. I just have better of an ability to pretend that I am, like Arbiter.
The biggest single problem is people who believe they know all there is to know about trance. I don't even know a fraction of what there is to know about trance even though I may not act like it sometimes. People who have been listening to trance since 1991 don't know all there is to know about it. When someone challenges their epic trance buffer of faux-importance and faux-intelligence they get defensive. This thread is the proof of that. |

Two people walk into a pizza parlour. A waiter walks up to them and asks "What would you like on your pizza?"
The first guy says "Pepperoni and Armin Mushrooms", the second guy says "Pepperoni and Sasha green peppers". The first guy says to the second guy "my tongue revolts at the thought of eating Sasha green peppers, i'd rather die than eat them", he then pulls a gun out of his coat pocket and shoots himself in the head.
What is the moral of this story? The waiter should have said "You can get half your way, and half the other way" and still enjoy a meal together.
That's not really the moral. The real moral is that you have as much control over the taste buds on your tongue as you have over the taste buds in your ears.
Its as logical to say someone sucks for liking cheese on their pizza as it is to say someone sucks because they like cheese in their trance mix. |

Point # 1

1.ASOT is a trance radio show run by Armin Van Buuren which showcases todays newest trance tunes.
2.GDJB is a prog. trance radio show run by Marcus Schulz to market himself.
3.Fritz is Paul Van Dyk's radio show where he showcases tunes he likes but wont really play in his sets.
4.Behind the Decks with Dave Piazza is my radio show where I market myself and other DJ's :stongue:
Please understand the difference in these concepts.
Only 1 and 4 are radio shows which are exact estimate of what the DJ will play live in a club. 1 and 3 are just radio shows which do not reflect there true skills and presentation of that DJ in a club

I think people confuss the comment ASOt sh!t with an insult to Armin however i read it as rather an insult to the 'typical' trance tunes that make it on this rasio show. IMO Its difficult to find good quality trance tunes each week,not only within trance but with all music in gerneral. Music is an art not a product. It can not be made in mass quanities each week with the expectation that one will find quality. Art takes time to form. As a result ASOT has sacrificed quality in order to meet its demand for a weekly show. This is why ASOt is plagued with poor quality new trance tunes. Thus the jokes about ASOt type tunes has come into existance.

PVD is not the great DJ that many have made him out to be here. Just as many complain how Armin plays 'fluff' in his sets; PVD also has the problem of playing some really sh!tty and annoying techno tunes in his set. The only way I can see someone enjoy PVD ty techno/hard style side is either your filled with anger and you enjoy sh!t that peirces your ears :stongue: or your some raver kiddie poppin pills and enjoy jumpin around to the unmusical nature of his techno trash. :stongue: I understand the principle of adding diversity to ones set but his track selection has been quite horrid in his pursuit to show his German Detroit Techno roots.
Point I am making in my PVD comment is that people have differnet tastes. I am demonstrating that one personal enjoyment in a set is another persons dislike. Thus anti- Armin comments are just as vailid as my anti- PVD comments. |

No. Your taste buds are physical. Your musical taste is mental and can change with experience. Hell your taste for food can change. If you eat too much of a food you like often enough and for a long enough time you will find that thing to now taste sickening.
And I misstated my idea earlier yet again. People who knowingly exclusively listen to pop have really bad taste in music. People who unknowingly listen to pop exclusively are ignorant with very bad taste in music. People who in conjunction with either of the aforementioned mindsets believe their form of pop music is more intelligent than other pop music are stupid. |

There is a saying: "I dont have a problem with God, it's his fan club I can't stand".
I feel this applies to the ASOT whores on this board. Its one thing to like Armin/A&B/{insert stereotypical bashed DJ here}. Its another to go wild over every tune Artist X releases, simply because it is by them. For example, I like Markus Schulz, but I dont like many of his tunes; but many people on this board would immediately jump all over any and every new release because IT IS MARKUS SCHULZ. This is pitiful in my view. If you like a song, thats fine, but if youre fooling yourself into caning a song because its by a certain name (or by a certain label, or caned by a certain DJ), then I ridicule your tastes. Not because your tastes are bad, but because they are based more on a persona/perception than on music quality. |

If somone likes what they are hearing when they listen to ASOT let them have there fun in there ASOT threads etc. Just don't go in, you knows what inside and what to expect. Now take that stick out of your asses Cobalt and Laushananee or whatever the your name is bitch. You guys are nothing but negative in everyone one of your posts. I like some armin mixes and some pvd mixes and i like just about every EDM genre but you guys saying that because i have an opinion i should always voice it is a stupid pointless argument.
If someone likes music let them like it. If you want suggest something else they may like. But don't ever ever just go out of your way to bash somone for something they like. the points you make basicly say that because you like ASOT etc. then you are stupid and you know nothing about music. Thats like saying that all white people are rich. Or because you drive a white car your gay. Honestly does it really make your life worse that they like something you don't. I'm sure your ing neghibor likes something you don't do you go over every morning and tell him how stupid he is because he likes that thing. NO YOU DON'T you just don't talk about that thing with him. Thats all everyone is asking for. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything. I know it might require some self restraint but that'll probably be good for you.
I'm sooo sick of people just bashing away. people this is supposed to be a place where you come to talk about something that is important and means a lot to you. MUSIC. Lets keep it to that. ASOT fans don't come into your threads and bash away do they? All everyone is asking is to stop the bashing.
I'll be surprised if anyone of you ever stop, because your are just as cluess about acting like an adult, dealing with things you don't like, and generally voicing your opions, then anyone new trance fan is about his genre.
Do you really think that people will actually listen to you when the first things you tell them is that your music sucks and your stupid and a ing idiot because of it. If you ever told me that my first reaction would be to tell you to go yourself and then go and do exactly what I was doing before enjoying the music that I enjoy. |
