To be honest this is a load of bull. These tracks were popular because they filled so many dancefloors, no matter who played them. By your logic, any big club record is only big because of marketing. Crock of . How do you think these tracks get on the radio, or big compilations? Because they've managed to ignite clubs. Big DJs only rinse them over a million other tracks because they worked better on the floor. And ultimately, no matter what you say about marketing, or big DJ play, or how much you actually like the damn formula, the big trance hitters became popular because they worked on the dancefloor.
Seeing as you come from a country where club culture is a niche community, and dance music is far removed from the commercial frame anyway, I don't think you actually know what you're talking about when you shout about "marketing" of trance singles. |

Besides that there's no causal link between a track "bringing people to the dancefloor" or "working on the dancefloor" and a track being popular, why, you're spot-on, mate. By your logic...wait, your threw logic out the window a long time ago. Why, i'll simply destroy your entire argument with one sentence.
There tracks that both work on the dance floor and bring people to the dancefloor, yet are not popular (or are nowhere near as popular as these trance anthems).

I would have to agree with him. There is way more music out there that would probably own a club than we are actually hearing, simply because the big DJs usually only play the same all the time. (Some more than others) |

I'm not saying every track a big DJ plays is a big hit in the way that Gouryella, Love Stimulation and Age of Love were. Obviously, tracks will become popular because they are played out by big names, because big names reach further, and a lot of what big name DJs play is crap. However, tracks that get caned on compilations and the radio tend to be the tracks that reach the whole of the community, rather than just the people who populate superclubs. |

tiesto pvd ferry paul hernan zabiela etc, each has ed up before. whatever you guys think, these guys have contributed so much, and especially tiesto. its just so pitiful that you guys actualy spend too much time criticizing a person that contributed so much in the trance scene and edm in general.
why not say good things about the dj instead of bashing? if you dont like him then dont listen. listen to what you love. and keep the hatred away. smile. it'll make your day better. |
