This would be because when he started mixing the turntables he used didnt have pitch control. But given the technology available now I'm sure he would be concerned with good mixing.

This is besides the point anyway, since modern EDM is MEANT to be mixed, as Ishkur said, to form a continuous stream of music.

Nope, turntables had variable pitch control from around 1973/4.

Oh so the DJ is important. I thought Ishkur thought it was all about the music :conf:

Yes, EDM should be seamlessly mixed.

No DJ will ever do it perfectly throughout their career.

The Tiesto Mix 4 sample I've just listened to off this thread is not perfect, but if I was dancing away any minor slipping of the beat, and it is minor, would be unnoticeable.

Go to a rave and enjoy yourself. If you hear a DJ mess up, give them a sarcastic cheer or whatever - the kind you gave to the kid in the lunch queue at school who dropped his dinner. If you're dancing away you won't notice the occasional momentary slip that will happen when you mix two songs together, and you're not a computer. If you notice every single tiny mistake, that the rest don't, then you're there for the wrong reasons.

And I had Gouryella Wall Halla played to me when it was first released, and had very limited knowledge of trance. It is a nice relaxing tune. I've never heard it in a club, but I'm sure my hands would be up in the air, eyes closed, enjoying that one if it came on. About 2 months ago I found out the artists names behind it.
